Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hi, I’m looking for a beach that has rocks and some rock pools that also has nice clean sand as opposed to stony and pebbly sand.

I need it for photographs so sand needs to be nice so it isn’t a distracting background!

    Thank you

The north beach in Rush - the southern side of it heading towards the harbour and the extreme northern end of it (Loughshinny side).

Some nice golden sand and rock pools near the lifeboat station in Skerries, plus parking nearby and nice places for coffee and ice cream!

The North beach in Rush especially at each end are excellent for this. Also the South beach at end of convent lane has lovely rock pools

why not use google maps to find a beach, and you know, scout yourself?

Some great rock pools beside Portrane Beach. Plus there’s caves that only kids are small enough to explore.

Google Maps - Tower Bay Beach, Portrane

Portmarnock beach has both. Rock pools at one end towards Malahide and a long sandy beach known as the Velvet Strand.

I've been driving out to them myself, it is easier to ask opinions as google maps isn't clear depending on when images are taken with tides etc. Some are not that accessible either
