In terms of using the excess, our tumble dryer uses 1.4kW on 'delicate' setting. Stills dries the same but slower. Perfect to finish clothes to make space for the next wash. Personally I try use it as little as possible though.

Yeah ours is b rated. it goes between 0.4 and 2.4kw. steadier usage would be nicer.

Dunno - for me here in south Dublin city last month wasn't great, but I did manage to beat PVGIS by 2.6%. A far cry from the 44% I beat it in March '22, but still it was close enough to being on target.

This month is ok so far - but next weekend looking good by all accounts for the bank holiday.

We'll see what we get of course, but it sounds promising.

Two full months for me now on Solar, had it installed at the tail end of January.

6kw panels with 5kw inverter and 5kw batter system, south facing in Newcastle Dublin

    Thus far:

    Feb 2023: 257 KWh

    March 2023: 451 KWh

6 Days in April thus far : 117 KWh

I guess it's the end of the month. April didn't feel great from a sun perspective. I'll post the solar production later but looking at the import/export for the month. The higher import peaks are the car charging. Reckon probably importing at average of 15 cents kWh, and exporting at 24 cents.

Some bad maths later 75 euro export, 55 euro import. Could that be right?

Pretty much done for the month, 7kwp, 4 kwp south east, 3 kwp north west. North county Dublin. March was 290kwh generation.

You mean for April? That's interesting, we produced very similar (similar size system) and you are completely south versus my south east/north west split?

    (Belated) March Stats

    352kWh generated (vs 564kWh(!!) for Mar 22)

    58kWh exported (89% solar self-consumption)

    475kWh imported (10kWh day, 330kWh night)

22.4kWh generated best day (10th Mar)

0.6kWh generated worst day (9th Mar)

    335kWh natural gas heating

    April Stats

    564kWh generated (vs 576kWh for Apr 22)

    60kWh exported (89% solar self-consumption)

    475kWh imported (11kWh day, 61kWh night)

32.9kWh generated best day (20th Apr)

4.5kWh generated worst day (22nd Apr)

    47kWh natural gas heating

I was away for last week of March/first week of April, hence higher export than usual. Managed to divert some into the EV while away, but the car went asleep after 3 days, and I had to force charge (precondition at day rates) to wake the car up. Unfortunately Zappi preconditioning settings are not remotely configurable!

Should be more or less off grid now until Sept. Even in April, there were only six days where we had grid import.

3.1 kWp in Dublin (1.7 south, 1.4 west). 5 kWh battery.

328 kWh generation with 84% self use

150 kWh into battery, 143 kWh out of battery

104 kWh imported, 45 of that EV charging

51 kWh exported. Bit shocked at this

No Eddi to soak up excess once battery is full. Might look at plans with FIT but on a smart meter :( so have to be careful with higher standing charge and peak rates. Considering only charging EV away from home for May to get a better picture of house usage.

So not as good as the last 2 years. Still sufficient for my goals. My estimate for the 2-month bill (March/April)

With a healthy (IMO) Buy/Sell distribution

Eight months on the Solar trail now. Figures are in for the month of April from a 4Kw system on an even East : West split. Based in South Dublin. No battery. 5kW inverter:

    • Total generated: 340 kWh
    • Highest day:  20th 20.31kWh
    • Lowest day: 22nd 4.27kWh

Great to see the figures continuing to climb now.

Thanks for that. Am new here and was looking for someone with a with similar system. Mine is 4Kw E/W split North Kildare.

April was my first full month and generated 351kwh. Best day was 18th 20kwh.

Purchased €53. Fed in €26 happy with that as our last few bills were around €110 per month.

    895 Kwh geberated in April.

I did notice that its reporting what went to the zappi as export as well as the real export, so reported export for me is not accurate in the least. Ill just have to trust ESB Networks on that one :)

623 kWh generated for April 23 on my 6.1kWp system just south of Cork City

Used 60% which is getting better, better planning working from home on sunny days to charge the car.

87% of my estimated PVGIS production so it was a poor enough month, and 80% of April 22.

    South Roscommon, 8.16Kwp, facing 210° at 35°, 9.6kWh battery

Total generation 811.1kWh (prediction at 841.9kWh, last year 857.50kWh)

    Consumed 735kWh (91% self use)

    Energy from Grid 0kWh

    Energy to Grid 73kWh

    To the Eddi 106.9kWh

To the Zappi 258.8Wh (all from solar and equivalent to 1450km's free driving)

    To the Battery 190kWh

    From the Battery 187kWh

    Best day 20th with 52.6kWh

    Worst day 22nd with 10.4kWh

Energy exported would have generated €13.14 at Energia FIT rate if on a smart meter, we are D/N.

April really does see a ramp up in production.
