    April

    Prediction 728 kWh

Actual Generation 660.28 kWh (91% of predicted)

    Total Consumption 913.49 kWh (46.11% Solar / 53.89% Grid)

    PV Consumed 420.96 kWh

    Imported from Grid 492.53 kWh

    Exported to Grid 239.32 kWh

    Eddi Usage 50.3 kWh

Wallbox EV Charger 154.84 kWh (96.8 kWh Solar / 58.04 kWh Grid import) [62.5% Green]

Best Day 21st Apr - 42.30 kWh (New All Time Record for me since it was installed)

    Worst Day 8th Apr - 4.46 kWh

    8kWp 4.8SE/3.2NW

    April generation 642kWh

    4.86 kWp, 2.84S/2.02W, no battery.

Yield of 489 kWh in April, with 126 self-consumed and 363 exported. Import of 106 so a battery might shore that up but really only with charging at night a lot of the time too.

I'm struggling to see April as a good month compared to previous. Maybe my first two years were just super. The last week really helped.

Hopefully not the normal. Overall figures from HA

The summed hourly buy / use mix is as it should be from now to September

And in real money, not as good as those with large arrays, but still positive for me 😁

With 94.1% at the EV rate

    🌞4.55 kWp, azimuth 136°, slope 24°, 5kW, 🛢️10.9kWh, Roscommon

Thankfully the last week or so has pulled things up.

Waiting for the last couple of days to be added to the Energia usage chart but on the EV Plan it is €80.11 imported and €145 exported.

8kWp total split 50/50 between East and West.

    737kWh for the month.

The first month of the year where generation was higher than consumption. All electric house and an EV.

687 kWh on 6.1kWp based South of Cork city

Not bad about what predicted, graph below shows cumlative production for the last 3 years, better than last year but way behind 2022

I decided to set my 5kW battery to discharge 12.30 until 4.30 today (it normally is charged 2-5am, and topped up with PV during the day). Its connected to a Solis 5kW hybrid inverter with 19x ~410w panels, split SE(6)/SW(3)/NE(10).

to my surprise, the PV panels began to produce much more than the normal 5kw I've been accustomed to seeing (snapshot below shows 6.798kW, I have other data of it reaching 7.345kW)

Is the Solis 5kw hybrid inverter OK with dealing with this extra from the PV panels? the image shows the Export + house load of 2.364 + 2.716 = 5.08 kW AC - which is the inverter AC limit, meaning 1.7kw was being diverted to the battery.

Is there an upper limit that the Solis can handle in this setup? eg if it was sunny enough, and all panels were covered in sunlight, could the full PV capacity (~7.7kW) be handled by the inverter for a long period of time?

Producing 6kW+ has regularly happened to my 5kW Solis hybrid since install in January. Only difference is I don't have a battery so can only assume it's exporting like it's nobody's business (I must tot up the export hourly values from shelly to see if it exported in excess of 5kWh per hour at any stage).

The size of the PV array has been designed within the tolerances specified by Solis so I can only presume there's little likelihood of the Inverter croaking.

496kwh for the month. With my inverter saying I've exporter 481kwh, but my HDF file has been exporting a lot less, more like 420, but I won't know the exact amount for a few days, but I haven't had such a big difference between HDF and the inverter so far.

Import is approximately 400kwh for the month so still expecting my bill to be -€50 for the month.

Just over 1 megawatt for the month which did April isn't bad especially the way the month started

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,297 ✭✭✭ionapaul

    For April:

652kWh generated - 6.72kW system facing ESE in South Dublin.

    382kWh consumed.

Very similar numbers to April 2023, our first full month with the system!

In April, self-used 29.1% of electricity generated and fed in the other 462kWh (no battery).

Since initial installation on March 7 2023, a total of 7.18MWh generated, 4.86MWh fed to grid, with a self-use ratio of 32.42%.

    Well down on last year….

Nearly 20% down on last May (which was pretty great in Dublin)

Still 624 kWh and another 212 kWh (off the shed) isn't to be snuff'd at, but only 93% of PVGIS. Hopefully June is more back on track for us all.

519Kwh for the month, all of it exported.

The month was a bit disappointing only ~50Kwh better than April. 11 days yielded less than 10Kwh per day, and most of them were around ~7kwh or less. Hoping June can be better.
