Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I loved Somebody to Love when In Tua Nua released it in the 80s. It was only years later that I discovered it was a cover. That said, Leslie Dowdall > Grace Slick.

    At not so fun fact-

Cass Elliott (Mana Cass) from The Mamas & The Papas died aged 32 in a flat in Mayfair, London.

Four years later Keith Moon from The Who died in the exact same room in the same flat. He was also 32.

I missed that vote but I would have voted for Summer Wine ahead of Sunny Afternoon or the Monkees one. I actually thought of Some Velvet Morning after I submitted my list, so many good songs out there that nobody submitted.

If it makes you feel any better, two of my nods got ko'ed 6-0 in the first round when I wasn't around to vote. :( (The Velvet Underground - White Light/White Heat and Nico - These Days)

#5 CCR, I like Watchtower but I just enjoy listening to this one more.

    #6 Rolling Stones, WOOH WOOH!!

#7 Jackie Wilson, a very nice track that I was only vaguely familiar with before the contest but really enjoy. Satisfaction is good, don't get me wrong, but I think Paint It Black and Sympathy for the Devil are stronger.

    #8 Marvin Gaye - a proper classic.

Before this contest, I always thought it was "Pale Moon Rising". Either way, not better than All Along the Watchtower, but what can one do..

California Dreaming. Paint It Black is probably the better song and will likely win but sticking with my nomination here, I just enjoy it more.

Jefferson Airplane - no contest. Fun song, and Elvis must be stopped.

Bad Moon Rising - another of my noms here, up against a beast of a song. Will likely lose but surely we don't need three Stones songs in the semis... right :P

Satisfaction - my nomination. I nearly nominated Marvin Gaye also so I don't mind who goes through here but I'm voting for my own pick.
