I’m not watching any coverage but when you say not looking well is it fair shook territory ?

My main objective has been met in 2020.

The reduction of FG and FF and the opening of a normal political divide in Ireland.
In anyones language, this can only be good

I would agree but unfortunately the party that has emerged on the left is one that is not democratic as it is controlled by the army council.

Interestingly, no FFer has been elected on the 1st count anywhere in any of the 39 constituencies. First time ever?? Even Micheal Martin got in on the 1st count in the 2011 wipeout.

How do you explain the multiple splits since the 70's so?
Be gone, you eejit. (Nearly) none of these new SF TDs have "connections". Without those connections they are very much order takers, not order makers.

I think we can make a decent stab at the next cabinet at this stage :

    Taoiseach : Michaèl
Deputy PM and minister for something nominal (Defence maybe) : Radser
With FF getting PM, Don Pasquale will probably stay in Finance.
Industry/Trade then to FF, probably Barry Cowan.
Each will get one of the poisoned chalices. Murphs and Harris will move from them, Harris to a lesser ministry, Murphy for a couple of years of quiet time on the nighty step.
Coveney will probably shoulder one of them - Housing. Michael McGrath for Health.
Donnelly, Colleary, Chambers, Bruton, Humphries and Creed for the lesser seats.

Time for SF to step up to the plate. Easy to criticize whilst doing nothing. MM is prepared to deal with SF.

Ghastly ***** the three of them

I saw brid smith saying she was happy to be eliminated but seemed to completely omit the fat that without the Massive SF surplus she might still be waiting. Also she was saying that PBP had a part to play in this change which if they did why didn’t people vote for them and not Sinn Fein ?

ruth coppinger gone, this shinner thing is awful but producing me so many good results.

Am I right in saying brid is the only one of the tripple letter loopers elected ?

He'll have knocked on every door he possibly could. Possibly not slept for weeks.

Disappointed with the size of Danny's vote all the same.

What benefits do they get for their council tax?
There are no benefits to the USC.
I make no distinction between prsi, paye or USC. We see **** all in return and all are a tax on pay.

Council Tax in say UK and France, Spain and so on covers police, rubbish collection, local amenities, cleaning the place and so on.. Everyone benefits from that not just owners of property, well the bank usually owns the property for about 30 years, but whatever.

USC is general taxation I agree. But it is necessary to ensure those who heretofore could arrange their taxes to pay little, now have no escape. I like that. And hopefully if it is reduced for those on lower pay, the rest of us will benefit also on a sliding scale.

Sinn Fein councillors protested against a number of developments. I don't "blame" anyone for anything but like most politicians they are talking out of both sides of their mouth. Populism is transparent.

I’m not a shinner but you can’t green light housing projects willy nilly , wasn’t that particular development more of a commercial enterprise than houses for the people?

Jack Chambers hmm not a fan.
O'Gorman seems to be well liked and around for a while nice to see him getting in.

Brid Smith was comfortably elected. I'm glad Coppinger is gone. Not because she would be particularly man hating but because she was just awful td.

FFG are the ones who have tax rates where they are.

Did you miss the reports where we are one of the most equal countries when it comes to taxation.

That isn’t what I asked. Did you want to pay less tax and then cast a vote for SF?

I want better services. I dont see how taxation can be where its at and services so poor.

Idiotic question. Of course i want to pay less tax. Doesnt everyone? However i realise that we need to pay an amount that can provide services.

Im sick of FFG squandering millions and us getting nothing back in return.

**** it as long as the multi nationals, investment funds and vulture funds are good then we should all stay quiet.

Im more than happy to pay extra in tax if we get the services in return.

Awh so despite multiple splits in SF since the 70's which the IRA couldn't prevent they'll somehow prevent someone voting against a FF led collation because you say so. And this says nothing of FF TDs deciding to go rouge.

Comfortably elected ? Yeah with a massive help from SF.

Just looking at SF transfers in Louth second count. The Freedom Party got more than O'Dowd! Nash now in 3rd with a SF helping hand and may well take a seat.

thats it. Paul murphy not looking great on the first preferences, if theres one thing I might take from this election , its the almost complete elimination of the far left and specifically the upper class wanna be poor left.
