If they both say no its another election and sf will win 100 seats.
They can't cos of the oldies, who will not vote for them, and those two will not be the only political groupings in the Dail.

And then FF suffer. They will be the ones causing another election (along with FG) which wont please the already pissed off electorate.

Add in Sinn Fein running more candidates and Mary Lou should send Leo and Michael a thank you card each.
As has been said protest votes only last so long and you have to take the opportunity. Don't be so sure it'll hold up or that some voters will not have instant buyer's remorse. Even if they wanted to, they'd have to get party members to vote on it. For supporters of both parties 60%+ would not vote SF so it is a complete non-starter.

Am I right in thinking Cian O'Callaghan SD could possibly edge out Sean Haughey in Dublin Bay North? David Healy GP votes yet to be transferred.

Well the oldies, and anyone with decency who doesn’t want to be associated with a political party who’s members support a terrorist organisation and shout ‘up the ‘ra’.

This is SF's spring tide. They have left about 7 seats in the field. So that is 44. Would be fairly hard to add to that in a 2nd election.

Martin must be wondering where it all went wrong, this time last week he thought all he had to do was chat up Labour, the Greens and a few independents and ease himself into the bosses chair.

It would because the only reason there is another election is if ffg refuse to sleep with mary lou.

Ffg would be slated at the doorsteps.

A re-election could be very interesting. Turnout was only about 60% am I correct? This was surprising. Turnout of just 49% in Dublin Bay South which is a bit of a FG constituency

That will be played on loop if there's an election rerun.

Or the voters might realise that nobody in their right mind can work with SF, SF prove true to their form of collapsing the NI government and not turning up at Westminster, the mask continues to slip with their candidates unashamedly singing pro-terrorism songs after being elected, and maybe it’s time to reassess and vote for a serious party.

Might be time for Labour to fold into the SDs who are on the rise, and give people a genuine left wing alternative rather than a populist fantasy.

Mary Lou should sack that spa singing up the Ra. Make an example of him. SF would come out really well doing that.

Yeah the clown even thought last night he would bring sf in as a junior partner to get him into the bosses chair.

His ultimate humiliation will be the first ff leader not to be taoiseach.

I know people say the debates don't sway many people, and in a lot of cases I'd agree, but MM performed terribly for the most part in all of them, a couple of surges aside. He kept letting Mary Lou wind him up and came across as being rattled by SF. In hindsight, maybe he was. Being involved in the last FF government hurt him too.

I think FF would have walked this election with stronger leadership and an earlier effort to distance themselves from FG.

Dessie Ellis would like to be the next Minister for Justice. ML will not chastise that wing of the cleansed party because she has been under orders not to.

    True colours indeed.

FF and SF heading for the same number of seats but a very different result. SF candidates were making headlines yesterday winning seats with record numbers, rebel songs and tricolours flying high.

On the other hand most FF candidates are falling over the line today scrapping around for transfers in long counts. Going to be very unhappy FFers out there.

    No shes not.

Its time to leave all that ****e in the past. Sinn Fein need to act and should act. FFS a bit of discretion at least with cameras everwhere.

Id say whoever was filming that will get a visit.

Lol. Sing terrorist songs and you’re out, but murder men, women and children and you’re cool.

You talk some nonsense. And I'm no SF supporter.

There should be no objection to having IRA in government, since we encourage it in the North. What should be examined is their record in government on the things they claim they will improve here. They preside over far worse homelessness and health service problems there.

Well they could always try and form a govt with FG if they're that unhappy.

Do you really thing Sinn Fein are going to sack a member for singing up the ra. He could be making pipebombs in the Dail chamber and they wouldn't bat an eyelid.

Two totally different countries, economies and political landscapes.

FFG have presided over the worst financial catastrophe we have ever seen. FFG will try to make you believe things are great.

They are not. Far from it. We need to try something else for the first time in a 100 years.

She thinks Thomas Slab Murphy is a good republican and an all round sound guy. One of Sinn Féin's finest supporters. She's not going to sack a TD from the party for singing IRA songs. There's nothing to be gained from it. People knew about that stuff when they voted and made their decision accordingly.

Throw in the protection of paedophiles on top of that list.
