All the youth and free loaders are expecting 100k cheap homes in the next 5 years or 3 years if the PBP have anything to do with it. Tax cuts, rent supplements, free GP care for their kids, no carbon taxes, free school books, scrapping of college fees and even grants to do up their homes along with a huge bounty of other goodies.

They wont know what to do if, the **** hits the fan with Brexit and if the big players move out once they land their tax bills. Once the millennials start to loose their jobs in great thrives and can no longer pay the additional pension funds required it wont take long for it all to come tumbling down.

    Comedy gold.

Mary Lou can say what she wants - a coalition made up of SF, Labour, Soc Dems, Greens, PBP, I4C and a load of independents wouldn’t last a month.

The people voted for change. Change is FF/SF/Greens. The people gave them a mandate. They rejected FG. Time up step up to the plate, folks. Give the people the change that was promised.
The only parties appearing hesitant in all fairness are FF/FG.

In fairness RTÉ have plated a blinder during the election on both TV and radio and I'd say the rte studio is like the hotel California.

Does anyone really know what is the point of the Social Democrats ?

It's called democracy. If we all agreed on everything we would be in a poor state. Very decent people in the Social Dems.

FG weren’t given a mandate. Thrown out. It’s opposition time for the blueshirts.

Best thing for FG & FF is to leave the others at it. The more that get dragged into that left government the better for them. They will tear themselves apart after 2-3 years.

The only problem being that this 'left alliance' has to get a certain amount of votes, and from the projections, that's not going to happen.

If, as is likely, FF just about pip SF to a greater share of the votes, the onus is on them forming a new government. The most likely other party, based on similarity of viewpoints is obviously FG. Of course, they can't do that, as their primary focus is on preserving their respective party, not the stability of the country.

It is interesting that comments like the above expect the left to destroy Ireland economically while forgetting that FF did just that not ten years ago. Short memories I suppose.

This will end with another General Election within the year and SF will flood the place with Candidates and do a UKIP.

Indeed, there is no way a rainbow coalition, with Sinn Fein, Labour, People Before Profit, Greens and Social Democrats with all their leaders are going to be easily able to create a stable government. That's before you take into account there's going to be independents in the mix who will ask for a heavy price to be involved and most likely a very small majority.

I'm not sure how it can be politically stable or so many interests can come together to work on a common goal. It's just too fractured to really work if you ask me. Plus if they make the mess of anything all it will do is implicate the lot of them and the next election, whenever it is held, will revert to a two party system where Fine Gael and Fianna Fail will mop up.

The rainbow coalition might be a good short term solution to get them all in power on a left wing agenda, but it could do all the parties lots of damage the following election unless they absolutely nail it and rekindle the two party system they have slowly eaten away.

Two of the big 3 need to go together with some help from elsewhere. It's not viable otherwise.

    The alternative is another election.

Still talking about rubbish people don't seem to care about.

    Hence the vote.

Huh? He didn’t know the outcome last week. He does now.

It's a simple question did he and FG campaign to go into opposition, if the answer is no then he and the rest of FG have a requirement to attempt to form a government anything else is to ignore their voters.
