Music system cd / streaming advice ?
Options

09-02-2020 8:07pmHi guys. I primarily stream my music from Apple Music / Spotify via my IPhone. With Airplay I may run it through my Apple TV which is connected to my Sennheiser Ambeo soundbar. Problem is I don’t have a CD player at present and I’m sure I can get better music audio performance from a dedicated setup.
My question is what system / speakers would you recommend for my streaming needs and for CD playback? What kinda budget would I need to get significantly better audio performance with music than I currently get through my Ambeo soundbar ?
Many Thanks in advance1

Thanks for coming back to us.
The Ambeo is a very serious soundbar so it would take a very good system to compete with it.
How about something like the following:
Cambridge CXA81
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204389-cambridge-audio-cxa81-lunar-grey-stereo-amplifier.aspx
Cambridge CXC
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204410-cambridge-audio-cxc-lunar-grey-cd-transport.aspx
Cambridge CXN V2
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-204390-cambridge-audio-cxn-v2-lunar-grey-network-music-player-streamer.aspx
Silver 100
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202739-monitor-audio-silver-100-black-oak-speakers-per-pair.aspx
I could offer these together as a bundle at 2934 Euro.
If you switch out the Silver 100's for some floorstanders like the Fyne F501's
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203256-fyne-audio-f501-black-speakers-per-pair.aspx
I could add these into the bundle at a total of 3368.00 Euro.
Let me know your thoughts.0 -

Thank you for your suggestions. To be honest I’m looking for a neat setup without multiple separates etc. Hence why I went for the soundbar solution for my surround sound.
An all in one system or at least all encompassing system with separate speakers would be ideal for me. What would be available?0 -
Hi GD,
what a nice position to be in!
CD systems are becoming increasing rare so it's a delight that at least one manufacturer is still producing decent quality 'all-in-one' systems - have a look at the excellent Ruark R4:
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-12948-ruark-r4-mk3-rich-walnut-walnut-dab-radio-bluetooth-cd-audio-system.aspx
The R4 is a beautifully made CD Player / Bluetooth receiver / DAB / FM Radio - all in a really compact and great sounding package.
As a streamer it uses Bluetooth Aptx - but it doe not have any built in web connectivity - it streams via you phone / Pad - however it has legacy analogue and optical inputs so you can add an Apple TV etc to digitise the experience if you like.
Its currently £699 / €799 - happy to squeeze one out in the classic american walnut finish at £649 / €749 and they are available from stock and ready to ship..
Thanks again and keep us posted if we can ever assist in any way,
ATVB,

Hey GD.
If you wanted a real beaut then there is the Naim Uniti Star which is one heck of a product.
https://www.naimaudio.com/product/uniti-star
5 star reviewed in What HiFi.
https://www.whathifi.com/naim/uniti-star/review
Currently priced at 3879 Euro.
I could offer one of these on a deal at 3648 Euro delivered.
There is also the Cyrus Three Stealth priced at 1499 Euro. Only a little movement on this down to 1478 Euro
https://euro.richersounds.ie/p-203549-cyrus-three-stealth-streaming-system-exc-speakers.aspx?swapstore=1
Also the NovaFidelity X35 coming in at 1999 Euro (This is a special order product and not one we hold in stock)
https://www.richersounds.com/hi-fi/mini-hi-fi/novafidelity-x35-black.html
You would still need a pair of speakers to run along with these though.
Let me know your thoughts and if any of these might be of interest.0 -

Thank you for these suggestions. All three look fantastic though the Naim is outta my price range for sure.
Can you tell me what the difference between the Cyrus and the NovaFidelity options are ? Do they each suit particular types and styles of music? Which would have better quality cd and streaming playback ?
Lastly any recommendations on speakers to compliment these two systems ? Many Thanks0 -

The NovaFidelity is a special order product and never held in stock so its not something I will ever get to play around with unfortunately.
I have heard lots of other Cyrus products and they are also very well reviewed.
I unfortunately have not heard the Three stealth in action yet though.
The NovaFidelity has a built in CD ripper for burning your CD's but to add the HDD an extra upgrade is needed (Purchased separately) the Cyrus does not have this feature.
The Three Stealth is more power at double the X35 with 200 watts per channel.
The X35 has other extras like XLR connects, built in phono stage for connecting a turntable.
It can be difficulty for us to have lots of expensive systems out on display due to the size of our Belfast store.
If you wanted a monster on deal on speakers I could offer a pair of the Fyne Audio F501 - Piano Black - for just £1080 delivered. They retail at £1299.
https://www.richersounds.ie/p-13669-fyne-audio-f501-piano-black-gloss-6-year-g-tee-speakers-per-pair.aspx
If you went for bookshelf speakers I could also offer a great deal on the Fyne Audio F500 at £559. Retail at £669
