FG thinking that FF would do a coalition with SF

So FG are FF's last resort, (and looking like everyone elses)? Because FG didn't enter into talks with anyone else and were happy to go into opposition save an invite from FF.

    What are you on about?

All I said was that people's behaviour wasn't the principle reason for the government not making a decision on the leaving cert. How is that pedantic nitpicking?

I don't know how the rest of your post has anything to do with anything I've said.

You came in to dispute a point then went on a derail to be pedantic.

It isn't but you fit in with the theme.

Does it fly in the window? Or is it spread by people
    This will be good

Yep, reeks of FG. Covid19 is because humans
    Another off point denial non-denial.

I see Leo getting roasted on Twitter for another ill informed, intemperate rant in the Dáil.
We can be sure he will fritter away all the ground gained.

Twitter Shinnerbots on the rampage isn't news.

There was so much truth in what the Taoiseach said.

Not at all IMO, so why the dislike for others pointing out the truth of his complete hypocrisy? We'd even one lad coming up with all sorts of excuses including the camera lens used to socially distance Varadkar from same.

    1. People carried it in unknowingly.(unless you are suggesting they did it deliberately, then no 'blame' applies, in fact, it is a pretty sick thing to do, to blame careworkers)
2.There was no or inadequate PPE.
    3. There were no strategies for preventing it's spread. (who is to 'blame' for 2 and 3, if it was done knowingly or was due to competence issues, I am sure will emerge as an issue)

So, you’re saying that the carehome and staff are responsible, as they’re the only outsiders going in. Why was there “no or inadequate PPE”?

If you want to compare the two.......

One was handing out food parcels like a third-world leader, the other was offering his highly-specialised expertise to a national effort.

Yeah, last resort circumstance that Leo left the door open slightly for
You got there in the end

People keep telling me that Sinn Fein have experience of government in the North, therefore what's the problem with them in the South.

Are you suggesting that they are wrong, and that it is nothing more than glorified local government?

Photo of Eoghan Murphy handing out food parcels doing the rounds in what was clearly a photo-op PR shot.
When Leo does cringe he certainly doesn't hold back. :):)

How is it 'last resort' when you yourself a few posts back said you would not be critical if FG tried again if this 'last resort' falls through.
Do you know what 'last' means?

Responsible, yes. To blame, certainly not, unless you are sinisterly suggesting they did it knowingly.

As to PPE shortages, I suspect we will end up with an inquiry into the whole issue. So we will find out exactly why...hopefully.

You said that carehomes had no or inadequate PPE. Who’s fault was that?

You’re correct that no one is to blame for the virus. The whole world was caught out. It’s nonsense to expect any healthcare premises to have an inexhaustible supply of anything, be it PPE, bedding, furniture, etc.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,431 ✭✭✭Mortelaro

I blame China for the PPE issues and the origin of the virus
You'd want to steer clear of this socialism/communism msllarkey

If you are blissfully unaware of what is being said about neglect of the needs of care-homes, you are perfectly entitled to stay that way.

As i said, I suspect an inquiry will be the eventual outcome there. We'll see then who the blame lies with, if any.

Sorry I was talking about Varadkar. Highly specialised in spoofing, sure why not.
Do you think passing your exams makes you highly specialised? Or maybe it's the HSE chap from a finance background? Or Harris the Journalism drop out?
Wasn't the discussion on using the pandemic for PR (while flouting social distancing)? That's our Leo.

Are you saying that Leo is not a real doctor?

That is a new low for you.

    Your bitterness is incredible.

So FG were FF's last resort for their effort to return officially to government, while FG had options but chose to try form a government with FF when asked. Yep, got it.

Blanch is busy jumping to conclusions when I said I was building a wall with 2 mates. Hasn't a clue what the circumstances were but still making the snide remarks (after trying to say I wasn't building a wall at all. :))

Yet when we have photographic evidence that the Taoiseach and Harris broke most of the rules for a PR shot in a warehouse and a hospital...curiously silent.

I'm saying he's not 'highly specialised'. How is he highly specialised? I thought he trained as a GP? Knowledge on pandemics doesn't spread like a virus through close contact, just look at Harris' boo boo.

Your coming to a conclusion on your own assumptions is on point as ever.

Back to the actual discussion, you don't see the hypocrisy in Leo of the personal PR department and his needless photo ops on an almost daily basis?

  • Registered Users Posts: 68,838 ✭✭✭✭FrancieBrady

Oh Leo...could you not tell what was going to happen if you lost it. Did he learn nothing in the election campaign?

    There's a formula.
    Here:

So Francie, you're saying the health Minister can't go into a hospital?

Your hate for civil liberties disgusts me.

See. It's easy, but pointless in a discussion scenario.

Hey, leave Eoghan alone. He's highly specialised in creating housing problems.

I am only too well aware of the problems in care homes. You seem to be absolving the management of all blame for failings.

Where did I do that? You trying to deflect now and invent something I didn;t say? Like certain other posters.

Which bit of this are you having trouble with?

    No
You really are making a dogs dinner of pretending you don't know
    I'll repeat what's obvious again

FG's only option had to include FF
FG relished opposition if the others trying succeeded, that included MLM's overtures and FF's to others
That not happening, FG as promised,is stepping in as a last resort

But you won't be critical if there is another resort after the 'last resort' which you claim is what this is?

Confused? I think we all are. :)
