    Ah there it is.

The classic whataboutery from SF and especially Francie:)

    'Whataboutery'.
This is a FG thread JJ. You were once again fulminating about SF.

I joined in on a SF conversation.

It was like that before I got here.

What was that about J1 visas you were using to back you up ten minutes ago?

An Irish senate appointee secured Enda Kenny's daughter with a J1 visa.
Billy Lawless was one of the Seanad nominees appointed by Enda Kenny last week.

What has that got to do with citing Trump's response to Covid number 19 as an example?
    Desperate.

So explain how it is whataboutery to talk about FG on a FG thread?
And maybe deal with the point made when you can't answer on the whataboutery claim.

There was no opportunity for Fine Gael other than the complete failure of Mary-Lou McDonald to put together any sort of a government. Mary-Lou's abject and abysmal efforts handed the ball to Fine Gael, yet Francie wants to blame them for taking advantage of her awful leadership.

If you want awful look no further than Varadkar. Lost out to SF on seats decided to relish opposition, but eventually willing to play second fiddle to FF in a desperate attempt to hold off on the public move away from FG. Hoping it will blow over before next election. Overseen austerity, national record breaking crises and when he went to the people he failed.

Eh because the conversation was about SF running from government.

And how they will blame someone else.

You then pipe in with something about Simon Harris and nursing homes.

    Totally irrelevant to the conversation.

Now you have twisted it again as usual.

You twist and turn the conversation so much with deflections that makes people loose interest in replying too.

Brought home FG's lowest ever result I think too. FF down to their lowest in the polls.
And their vote share down to 44% from a high of 84%
Do you think the public are trying to get a message through Bowie but the lads and lassies ain't listening regardless.

Funny how SF voted for the bank guarantee which led to Austerity.

What would you have done differently Bowie?

Weren't FG the highest in the last red C poll?

I was making a mockery of your contention that any political party here blames themselves. By pointing out what FG do ...on a FG thread.

They have been highest before but in the latest election the public gave them 20%. Their lowest return ever I believe. That's down to Leo's leadership.

So the poll doesn’t count when FG are high

But it does count when Sinn Fein are doing good

Some but of twisting and turning on that one Francis

Leo went to the people and lost get over it. Mary Lou who many here say hasn't a notion led her party to more seats

Leo went to the people and lost get over it

    Yes in the election

In the poll he is kicking everyone ass

Actually I think I have perfected it now

The people who voted for change just got short changed by Sinn Fein. Better?

Where have I ever said that Shef?

Polls are interesting yes...the election result delivered by Leo is even more interesting.

You updated so I will respond to second but, Mary Lou hasn’t a clue what was going on otherwise she would have run more candidates

She was looking at the local election where she got hammered and thought the same would happen.

So she hadn’t a notion what was going on....

What happened in the Nursing Homes was 'a complete derogation of duty by government'. This isn't going to go away.
Fergus O'Dowd, chief prosecutor for Fine Gael up next on Tonight show.

    Edit: opps...Fergus reckons it's 'somebody else's fault'. :)

No, you are entitled to your personal beliefs, but not when legislating for all.

How many times do I need to make the point.
Could you go through that again?

Polls are interesting alright, let's see what the polls say after what's came out about the Nursing Homes.

Who let Fergus Ó Dowd on the tele.

He's making a fool of himself and FG

Getting questioned reasonable questions and just smark remarks back and no answers

They were able to pose for photoshoots but couldn't return calls for the head of the industry trying to make desperate contact with them. Blood on their hands.

Wouldn't it have been great if SF or some other party could have warned FG about nursing homes when the pandemic arrived?

Like seems we all have the answer here, why did we all sit on our hands?

Sure it was common knowledge at the time.

Yeah as I said before, the nursing homes will go down as a serious black mark. Unfortunate, because there were genuinely some times that I thought the state and government showed some signs of quality.

Even though this was a screw up, the electorate will weigh this up against the majority of the Dail sitting in their comfy seats leaving others to it, plus the nonsensical economic policies proposed by others only a few short months ago (pension/cutting the tax base) so FG could still come out ahead.

TBF, that was a ****show for Fergus and FG. Awful, whenever under pressure, he turned to the snide remarks alá Enda and Leo.
