You suggest the 80% could form a government. Even FF/FG are looking like they won't.

Its not FG's fault if 80% of the new dail can't put a government in place.

Never said it was. You're the one expecting them to.
More chance of FF/FG doing it, but I expect that'll be a bridge too far for Varadkar's ego, with MM on the throne.

    So what do you want?

    So what do you want?

    Are you bored?
    Fair enough:

    FF to apologise and disband.
FG to not step foot near a government until they see all people as equal.
Any government that builds affordable and social housing while making buying or leasing social housing and the use of hotels back to being only in emergency cases.

None of those are possible, in the short to medium term anyway. Try again.

When you break records year on year in homelessness and other areas I'd suggest take a look at policy. 'Look over there' or 'It's worse/the same elsewhere' doesn't cut it, nor should it.
The problem will always be there to an extent however breaking records or throwing your hands up is not acceptable. Could you imagine if FG's benefactors were losing profit margin year on year what would happen? They'd bend over backwards to tackle it.
Governments are in the business of managing and looking after the affairs of society as a whole.

    Agree 100%

FG have been driven out of office with just 35 seats.

Luckily the parties who campaigned for change have 125 seats between them and can form a strong government that will deliver all the solutions.

    We've had an election
Sf did not win a majority and neither did left wing socialists

The responsible thing to do is for the majority represented centre to form a government That's FF 39 seats (inc 2 healy Raes) FG 37 and green 12 with a rural alliance of Lowry, matty ,Verona etc
    That's a whopping stable 91 seats
    That's Democracy in action:)
did they get another 2 seats that I am not aware of

This sounds like a veiled FG pity post, but the 125 seats are not for the same party. Also isn't every vote not for the sitting party a vote for change? I know after decades upon decades of floating from FF to FG this is all very jarring, but it's healthy.

    You're a shinner? That's no excuse.
You wouldn't represent every member surely?
I mean even FG have Coveney and Charlie Tan-again.

Do you consider being in opposition doing nothing? I know many FG followers do. So yes. In fact, terms such as 'hurling from the ditch' and 'whinging' have oft been used.
Better having FG in opposition doing nothing than in government making matters worse.

I did say including the healy raes, FF in all but name

    Edit
Oh yeah I see what you mean
Essentially they did too if you include Naughton and Verona
Dissident but FG all the same

You could add the latter two to a list that might be persuaded to vote the same way consistently, the Kerry twins, no, not even with a high price.

Call me a cynic but strange how the numbers have climbed again after the election is over.

The number of people who are homeless has risen to over 10,000 again https://jrnl.ie/5025015

    On that......

Did anyone else hear the woman on liveline today who owned something like 38 properties, who was steadfastly against any notion of any govt introducing a rent freeze because it would affect her income?

There's big money to be made when people are desperate.

This pretty much sums up the FG (and to a lesser extent FF) reaction the the 2020 election results and how everyone is viewing it, IMO.
“Sinn Féin Have Coronavirus, Pass It On” Varadkar Tells Media

TAKING a break from so-called ‘exploratory talks between his party and Fianna Fáil over a failure to find anything to disagree on, Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has returned momentarily to his favourite pastime which some people have labeled as hysterical scaremongering regarding Sinn Féin.

“Sinn Féin are not a normal party; further proof of this is that they’re coughing up big phlegmy spits, they’re coronavirusing all over everyone. You didn’t hear it from me but pass it on, yeah?” the Taoiseach said in a briefing with sections of the media.

You've found a new fine Gael hate barrel to scrape and reinforced the bottom of it so it doesn't empty as quick
Well done, you're certainly scouring the internet for it,even the FG website in the other thread..

Your definition of everyone though is worse than Sinn Féin maths

    Wow that's very bitter.
A funny and apt satire article appeared in my timeline.
You really are het up about this. Swings and roundabouts horse. You'll get use to your team not winning.
Here's how it works; a government is formed you may not like, you say to yourself, 'well, let's see what they do'. Then if you're happy, great and if you're not some might say you're a whinger who didn't want to be in government and just likes to moan...as I understand it.

His bitterness is hilarious. Completely obsessed with FG but no answers at all when pressed.

Haven't heard of many people who were steadfastly for taking a pay cut or not being allowed get a raise.
