Its fcuking disturbing, they've no real clue of the fundamentals of economics in a deflationary period, they really need to burn their neoclassical books. oh and pascal, the uk is gonna fund their social welfare policy by opening the taps of their central bank, funnily enough, our central bank could do the exact same thing, and also funnily enough, this could just reverse this deflation, your neoclassical advisors won't tell you this, because they don't understand this!

You can print endless money if your economy is backed by ASSETS and value add:

Usa debt/gdp (private, govtm, corporate) is 300% of gdp
Argentina (failed lefty governemnts) has 50% debt/gdp

Yet it’s Argentina which is perennially bankrupt. Not the USa, USD as strong as ever :)
    Simple economics really.

Loving this left politics failure. Italy and Spain are paying for their decade long left wing follies with dead bodies. Maybe they’ll learn the lesson this time...

How have FG & FF blocked SF from government?

They have categorically ruled out forming a government with them

Also just to reiterate what you're saying here you're loving the dead bodies piling up in Spain and Italy because if justifies your view on left wing policies in your eyes? Christ you Fine Gael fanboys are something else.

You understand what a 'national government' is?

You understand what it means when you say 'you will not go into government with X'.

I do know that a national government would be a waste of time. i also know that there are the numbers there to form a government without FF & FG. Don't let them stop you.

    Happy to do that.
In 2y eur/usd will be well below parity, usa economy booming in Trump presiency No2.
Here you’ll have negative rates, 5-10% inflation in essentials (healthcare, childcare, building costs) and no fiscal space.

    You 'think' you know.

The numbers are not there or there would be a new government. Nobody has managed to find them yet.

So in the absence of a new government emerging the duties of government fall to the incumbents.
Who have been doing well but who have also had lapses and failures which MAY NOT have happened had others been listened too.

When things like that are being missed or not thought about in a national emergency then anyone whose 'priorities' are the people, would have NO PROBLEM with a national government.

Nice to see that you have revealed what your priorities are...they are party first as we have seen with the childish one-up-man-ship.

There's enough TDs without FG and FF for SF to form a government with but not enough will as SF policies are loony in the context of a booming economy.
The policies are in tatters now.

Anyone who voted FG or FF don't want SF in government.... Democracy has spoken.

My priority is that we get out of this mess as best we can. FG are doing a great job so far. just ask the WHO. Hopefully it continues. SF can continue to sit on their hands. Its what they are best at. Vast majority out there are happy for both parties to continue in these roles. they know its our best chance.

Why would you need to ask the WHO when you can see them making mistakes and taking their eye off the ball, ourselves?

FG won't be allowed to be their usual arrogant selves here...lives are at risk.

You have NO IDEA how the 'vast majority' feel at all.

The last polling (last Sunday) showed that FG got a small bounce from their performance but the most popular party STILL is SF.

You must be just watching the European liberal media as trump is still odds on to get a second term and as much as the Europeans dislike him the heart of America loves him. And if his government produces the goods in response to the covid 19 then he is a shoe in

Are the Greens out or are they sniffing for more?

Greens and SDs have lost considerable credibility. There's an open door for them into Government where they could get a junk of their policies built in. Yet they continue to hold back and funk the issue.
For the great pedlars of virtue -it's purportedly all about the policy but when it comes to doing the hard work of negotiating issues they're found sadly wanting.
Not surprising to see the SDs at 1% in latest poll -they're a waste of space.

Ten million Americans to be infected by April.

This virus targets the older and infirm almost specifically

Trumps base are going to be mauled by it. And he’s not doing nearly enough to stop it.

Ps ‘liberal media’ would you ever give over with that. The man is a cabbage and as this crisis is showing completely out of his depth and unfit for office.

Absolutely has and nobody has suggested different.

What hasn't changed is FG arrogance that they have all the answers.

that 'arrogance' could cost a lot of lives were it allowed to manifest itself.

I would argue that after all this dies down FG will be left with alot of explaining to do. Seem like alot of the crisis that we faced in the past could have been alleviate with some proper governance and decisive action.

The graph of American diagnosis is almost vertical now.he knew since last year. Key republicans also sold off equity shares and a few of them are now under investigation by the SEC. Trump will be lucky if he isn't toppled Saddam Hussein style when all of this is over. When this thing grips the U.S it's going to be extremely dramatic.

Two of the best responding countries to this crisis, South Korea and Taiwan have centre-left governments. Their economies are more or less still operational day to day despite external pressures.

Put away the smily faces and sneers because once again you've been proven to be shown to be wrong.

2bed 2bath Dublin2/4/6 capped at 2400 month still yields very little. 30 results, usually between 15-25, but 30 not out of the ordinary given the time of the year.

Yes they have centre left now (by Asian standards, which is more centre by European standards). But been run for decades as free market, low welfare state economies. Asian countries have no nanny welfare state, so they’ll all do fine. See Singapore, Japan etc.

    https://www.bbc.com/news/business-22243977

“On average, welfare recipients in Taiwan get NT$4,200 (US$140) a month in public assistance money.“

Typical lefty nonsense doing zero research. A lifetime doler gets more in a week in this kip here.

If you lived in Singapore you must've spent the entire time in the four floors swilling Tiger because you were talking scutter about their public housing the other day.
