    Hi Guys,

Apologies if this has been covered before, can't see anything that's recent. From an advertising perspective what do you guys find works best for a small company?

    Thanks,

Who is your target demographic ?

What is the price point of your sale , or what is your product ? and how big is your budget for advertising.

A little more info will help us to answer better.

Without knowing your target demographic it's really hard to answer that question.

Our target market is quite broad we are a tech store that sell everything from mobile phones / laptops / tablets / accessories etc.

Price point differs say for entry level Android phones €80/€90 all the way to iPhone 11's over the €1200 range

same for laptops - some entry, mid & high specs to suit different budgets.

Advertising Budget - don't have a fixed amount trying to come up with some ideas, get an idea on costs and then try and work out what we think would work best.

    Google AdWords.
Needs to be done properly or will be a money pit.
Where are you based? Do you have local competition?

It does seem like a broad range of products to an even larger demographic.

    for my 2cents worth...
I would have said a short video ad, for use on Fbook and Insta would be a good idea.
You can set your budget, get your message across faster with a voiceover (& subtitles) and these platforms have all the analytics you need.

It would be a low cost way to investigate.

I hope others on this forum will chime in with their ideas too.

    hth,

You haven't mentioned if this is digital marketing or traditional, the answer is very different depending on what you are trying to do - are you looking to drive traffic to a website or drive people to a store.

If it's a website then before you waste money on advertising how is your website performing. What sort of traffic are you getting, where is this traffic currently coming from (this will determine where to spend on ads or not to spend), is your website optimised for performance etc etc.

Yes it would be digital marketing and looking to drive more traffic to the website.

Traffic at the moment comes direct, google search, social media, we want to increase the volume of traffic.

We have done FB Ad's - static and video content. Intsa - same and also done some google Adwords.

What works best depends on lots of factors, including product, price, demographic, popularity of the product etc.

My suggestion would be to break your product range into smaller related groups and do focused promotions to particular demographics.
Do you have any information about the demographic of who buys particular products (from you).
If you don't already know start collecting this info and use it to target your marketing campaigns.
You can generate some of this info by doing small ranges of products to particular demographics and measure results, over several different campaigns.
Then adjust target demographic and measure again and so on. Do this for each of the product ranges you want to promote.
It takes time and effort to do this but you have your data and will then get better results at a much lower cost.
All this assumes you actually have the right products at the right price point and the shop or website that can effectively turn visitors into customers.

To misquote someone else, not using targeted promotions to predetermined audiences is like blindly firing a gun into a forest and hoping something runs into a bullet.
