So I'm with Vodafone living in the back end of nowhere and the phone signal inside the house is terrible.

Regarding boosters/repeaters, I see that ComReg has made some of these legal now and I have reviewed some threads on boards already, but can anyone recommend a legal repeater/booster that I can use, that improves phone signal, 4g would be nice but 3g is fine.

I have found this one, but no idea if its any good.

    Thanks

OK for 800MHz 4G but if you require it to boost the signal for your voice calls also you will have to look at a 900 MHz repeater, voice and 3G or a combined 800/900 MHz repeater for voice/3G/4G.

4G is a nice to have, but have WIFI in the house so not critical. So Voice and 3G, this would be a good option?

If you have WiFi in the house, just change your phone to one that Vodafone supports for WiFi Calling

We have Imagine Broadband, but our mobiles are with Vodaphone. Ive a Galaxy S8 which gets a tiny signal and my wifes One Plus 7 doesnt get any phone signal in the house.

I was hoping to get this signal repeater to boost the signal indoor using the same phones and sim.

My brother has been using this 900 MHz model for a few years now, he had to import it via France, at a time when all repeaters were still illegal here, even though they are manufactured in Waterford.

He had a few Chinese imports before that, but they all let him down, no issue since with the stelladoradus repeater.

If you are bill pay and your S8 is a Vodafone handset you can use wifi calling. You just need to enable it in the settings

S8 but it was bought unlocked. Not a vodafone handset.

I have the StellaDoradus GSM (900MHz) model just over a year and it's well worth the price. In my case I was fed up having to drive out to pick up SMS verification texts only to return back and get a session timed out error.

With the booster switched off, there is no indoor coverage on Three or Eir and just weak reception on Vodafone. With the booster switched on, all three networks get a full signal reading on the room with the antenna as well as the adjacent rooms. It's usable for voice and SMS a second concrete wall away, but becomes patchy any further away in our house.

I can confirm it works on 3G for data, at least in my rural area where all three networks have 900MHz HSPA+ cells. GoMo gets around 10-12Mbps here, plenty whenever our main connection is down. Just place the phone in the room with the indoor antenna and enable Hotspot mode. ;)

    Brilliant, thanks

Quick Question, from someone with little to no DIY ability. Who or how would you install one of these or who would you get to do it?

Shouldn't need to be a Vodafone handset to work. Days of custom software built into phones for networks is gone - its all downloaded now based on your SIM profile

Novatel Communications (https://signalsolution.novatel.ie/) are one company that supply and install.

Comreg FAQ on mobile repeaters here - https://www.comreg.ie/consumer-information/mobile-phone/mobile-phone-repeaters/

From that FAQ, a list of suppliers and installers - https://www.comreg.ie/media/2020/02/Supplier_Installer_List.pdf

Also any competent TV aerial/satellite dish installer/diyer should have no problem installing the repeater antenna. We installed a few of them over the years.
