It is almost like Sinn Fein leaked Reada's comments to take some of the pressure of poor Violet-Anne. They'll have hardly anyone left fit to be a Minister at this rate.

How is her coalition of the left coming along?

Given that Solidarity / PBP is now actually separate 3 parties (remember RISE anyone) how does she expect them to reach agreement on anything without them splitting further?

Best to ask RTÉ, that seems to be the only people Mary Lou is talking to....

She should send a few more letters. That seemed to work for her.

Guys the tallies are in this twitter feed from the Clare Echo. Normally Clare Champion publish them the week after but have not done so yet

    https://www.clareecho.ie/ge2020-live-clare-general-election-count/

The west Clare area on its own wont get you anywhere near a quota. She did well in shannon Ennis and even Sixmilebridge which would be Crowes Hometown.

I suspect the under 30 vote home from college or working in Dublin and home for the weekend had an effect as it was a Saturday poll.

I would be inclined not to vote FF/FG but as I said in the Clare GE thread we had a very bad slection of Canditates on the ticket. I was very surprised at how well she did and I dont think even the most optimistic SF supporter would have expected she would be electate let alone Top the First Preference count.

She was added very late to the ticket and only just made the quota by 3 votes on the last count so it wasnt a resounding sucess. Suspct she will be a one hit wonder.

The last SF Candidate Clare returned was Eamon Dev so we do have form on the quality of our SF TD's

Another homeless man dies on FG's watch.

SF will have some work to do to clean up the mess that will be left.

How are SF doing sorting out homelessness up north?

No idea, what sort of budget has westminster provisioned for it?

I thought SF “won” the election so is it not on their watch?

FG dissolves the government weeks ago....

    Always someone else’s fault, eh?

    Sometimes it's clear.

In this case buck stops with Eoghan Murphy.

Between homeless and young women. Harris and Murphy wha.

    Great bunch of lads.

You go understand that most rough sleepers choose to sleep rough, right? They can’t be forced into hostels or other accommodation.

I know you don’t support or vote for SF, but what do you thing Mary Lou and her pals will do differently to handle rough sleepers?

You're right, some do and there's a lot of other complex issues around it.

Lack of services, mental health etc etc.

    It's a complex issue.

After been ignored for so long. It's going to be difficult for anyone.

FF/FG have done right botch job on this.

From what I heard the person that died was due to drugs, is it the government fault that people take drugs?

We should elect people to look after such things, IMO.

    It can be.

Governments can generate situations where people are more likely to take them.

Then have little to no supports for people who want to get off them.

It's not a simple question with a simple answer. Sorry

So SF are going to stop people turning into addicts?

    No more alcoholics either?

If that’s the case I would even vote for them

Your original point was silly, just admit it and move on

Through addiction and other issues. That's the point you don't understand.

Never said that. You're just learning it plays a role.
It's two fold IMO, help people with problems as it benefits society and try tackle peoples problems who are homeless. There is no one cure fits all.

No you're roiling in with child like insights ignoring the complexity of an issue.

There's nothing silly about people dying in our national parks.

Did I say it’s silly? I said your point is silly

Your trying to talk about complexity when you blamed a politician with no idea about what happened this person or why they are on street?

Using that logic Mary Lou is responsible for Dessie Ellis making bombs that were used to murder kids.

The government likely didn't directly lead to them becoming homeless, but it's the governments responsibility to tackle social problems.

Don't you mean Pádraig Faulkner of Fianna Fail, minister of defence in 1980? Going by that logic.
I don't believe ML was a government minister during that period.
