    Hi all,

Long story short, I have severe tetracycline stained teeth, the top front are the worst.
Two years ago I got 6 porcelain veneers..

The veneers did not cover the front two very well and I am now left with the two front teeth that do not match the others in whiteness..told the dentist I was not happy, got the front two redone.. and still looked the same so I just gave up.

Fast forward to present time, I really want to get these front two sorted.

I just don't know who to go to, what I should be asking for etc.
    Im in Cork.

    Thanks all

    Hi saarb,
I’ll pm you the name of a prosthodontist (a specialist in the restoration of teeth, veneers/crowns/implants etc) in cork, he’s very expensive but has an excellent reputation. It seems unusual a veneer wouldn’t cover tetracycline staining? Just tell him what your looking to achieve and he’ll tell you what your options are.

Tetracycline staining is notoriously hard to cover. You have to prepare the teeth a lot to block out the underlying colour. Sound like preparations were not aggressive enough or too translucent a material chosen. Crowns also work better to cover the colour.

Ya I figured there was more involved then a regular veneer procedure. But its difficult to know who is able for the job ,for lack of a better term. So hoping I can get some recommendations 😊
