Smartply as well. That's Sanofi, Teva , B&L, Cartamundi, Rigney & Dolphin & Smartply.

Now I've seen inside most of these places and the majority are modern factories, way more social distancing going on even on a normal day than in schools with top notch ventilation.

And yet it's spreading there. Can you see where this is going....

It’s not spreading there. The B&L case was a remote worker (not onsite), and from what I’ve heard the cartamundi and one of the Sanofi cases were brought back from foreign travel. To say it’s spreading within the factories would be untrue (as of yet)

Stop spreading rumors, The Sanofi one was not brought back from foreign travel. Person who has it did not leave the county, never mind the country. Alot of keyboard warriors on this particular subject.

    https://waterford-news.ie/2020/08/23/second-covid-19-case-confirmed-in-bausch-lomb/#.X0KR8chKiUk
MANAGEMENT at Bausch + Lomb have confirmed a second positive Covid-19 case at their plant.

In a message to staff this afternoon the company said:

“As you are all aware, on Friday we communicated the 1st case of COVID-19 from one of our employees. Over the
weekend we have also received confirmation that a 2nd employee has tested positive. Whilst we will never comment
on individual cases, we understand that both employees are doing well and are self-isolating in their respective homes. We can confirm that both cases are not directly related to manufacturing and there is no requirement for
    any other employees to self-isolate.”

Person(s) who have it were at a house party with the person who returned from foreign travel, the day after they returned I’m led to believe. Idiotic behaviour.

RTE are getting of easy on this. RTE’s impartiality is under question after this when one of their presenters is going to Oireachtas golf events. Why would Sean O’Rourke go unless he was seriously buddy buddy with the TD’s for years (I know he has left RTE recently)? Serious conflict of interest there. Where I work I have to declare every month I have not received or done anything that would be considered a conflict of interest. Surly journalist socialising with TD’s should be a breach of RTE code of conduct. The whole thing looks very bad for a lot of people.

What a bloody coward he is. Only a fool would defend him now. Even if he came on tomorrow morning he has zero credibility as its clear hes just trying to carefully polish a story which makes him look apologetic and at the same time trying to cling to whatever support he has left.
He should have been on the radio straight away friday morning and held his hands up to say he was sorry and it was a monumental error of judgment. But of course he didnt and hes only sorry he got caught, not for his actions. Cullinane might be a mouthpiece but at least he faces his electorate at every opportunity. Unlike this fellow who should never be involved in politics again.

Hear! Hear! At least Cullinane had the balls to front up to the media after his post election outburst. As for Cummins the longer he waits to speak the harder its gonna be. If he had taken up D.Tiernan's offer of an early morning Friday interview he would have missed out on the bulk of public backlash. In the interim everyone knows what went on in Clifden and he will get slaughtered on air and by the public. He deserves all that's coming his way. Politically he is finished. Wfd City Council should also seek his removal from ever being a local public representative.

Leave little John alone....he's entitled to his Daddy's old job and besides he would do a lot more harm in the next job he's given. Certainly don't need feeble minded clowns teaching in Waterford.

Probably trying to get Phil Hogan's advisors on the line to draft the 1st of many statements of "unreserved" apologies;). TBH if he is stalling on fronting up he must have something to hide about the night. Staying quiet and hoping it will go away is child's play.

And just think, nearly 6,000 people gave this idiot who is thoroughly unlikeable even as career politicians go, a first preference vote, based on a party badge. Or maybe they liked him, who really knows with people, weird creatures that they are.

It's fundamentally anti-democratic a politician refuses to engage with local media. Its Trumpian. What's this the second time he's refused to do an interview. A written apology on Facebook isn't good enough.

Did he apologize on Facebook? So many of his voters dont have access to that. Too late now anyway, waaayy too late for any redemption. Coming on tomorrow may as well be the same as coming on a year from now. Hes shown the measure of himself, nobody will be fooled. And id say hes scared of getting eaten alive by Tiernan, who certainly doesnt give anyone a soft ride.

Yeah made a short paragraph on Facebook and basically got eaten alive by everyone.

The apology from Facebook: On Wednesday night I attended a function at the Station House Hotel in Clifden following a golf event at the Connemara Golf Club. In light of the updated public health advice issued on Tuesday I should not have attended the dinner following golf. I have been so careful in adhering to the public health advice since the start of Covid-19. This was a lapse of judgement on my part which I genuinely apologise unreservedly for.

None for Waterford today still 181

Want a laugh call up a picture of Butt-head from Beavis and Butt-head and then put a picture Cummins beside it. The resemblance is uncanny :D

I read about 100 of those comments on his fb and not 1 person was in support of him. He got some roastin on there.

In fairness we all know he was going up to Clifdon thinking this will be a good career move for me.

Oh not at all, I’m led to believe it was the day after he returned but it may well have been two days. The thing is, social media posts catch a lot of people out and the snapchats, instagrams are hard for people to stay away from when they’ve a few drinks and whatever else on board.

Just let him know that the people of Waterford don't want his ilk representing them in the future. If Big Phil is having to scrape for his political life and the Supreme Court judge is being investigated then a little pip squeak like Cummins should be mad go do one! (Still a no show on Deise FM BTW)

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,224 ✭✭✭friendlyfun

How can he ever come before the Waterford people again asking for our votes? No way can he be put on the FG ticket here ever again.

Still trying to figure out how Waterford Council can prevent him? It’s up to the people who represent them.
