6.18 today. But he cleared it with some serious leeway. 6.25 or 6.30 possible if he stays healthy?

Firstly I hope organizers promise him big paycheck for WR and he does it cm by cm so he can save the money for when he's old. :):Dfl4gg

Just catching up on the two records. Today looked easy. 6.30 is definitely a possibility. Yeah, he'll do it a centimeter at a time and organisers will happily stump up the 20 grand or so to have him do it. His fellow jumpers seem to be very fond of him and comes across like an all round good guy.

I see there is no limit on pole length, but there is a limit on how much the pole can bend with respect to the athlete's weight. So there is an effective limit on how long a pole can be. The longest poles are 5.30m.

Someone has done the maths (if there were no limits on pole length) with regard to how Usain Bolt at top speed would do. Very theoretically, if he could carry a pole at his top speed and executed the technique to perfection, he might jump 8.5m.

It'll be fascinating to follow Duplantis and see how high he can go.

Yes, but Jonny May is even faster...
