Please buy the prepay. This season I have been caught waiting over 20 minutes to get out of the car park a good few times because people didn't pre pay for tickets, drove up to the barrier and then had to walk back to the pay station to pay for their ticket. You would think people have never used a paid car park before some nights in there.

Might have been last there at the times when the barriers used to be lifted before the end of the game.

Not many goals in premier or div 1 at the moment

The latest press conference done by Billy Dennehy for the Kerry media is fairly realistic in terms of sticking to a tight budget and concentrating on the development of local players - the one concern would be where the financial backing is coming from, but presumably the FAI and League of Ireland are being kept fully in the loop:

They also plan to sell season tickets in the coming weeks, which must be on the basis that waiting until licensing day in November/December would give them too little time for February:

Dundalk should have had one. One on one with Clarke and hit the wrong side of the net. Not much else of note to report.

Only 3 goals in 9 games so far, weather is cat.

Make that 4... Get in City !

City go top with a win in the Cork derby as Galway drop 2 points at home.

Makes up for the crap weather- heavy rain on and off all day in Cork.

Great point for Drogs until Pats push the self destruct button with the game won.

    Still a decent point though.

Two terribly dropped points by us tonight. Advantage back to Cork. Hopefully Treaty do the same job on them Monday. We struggle so much against teams that just dig in deep.

    First half in EDP, #greatestleagueintheworld

    The duck was also MOTM.

    TV game any use?

Touching moment at the end of the Rovers Bohs game with the way Long interacted with Bradley.

Biggest rivalry in the league but at the end of the day family is the most important thing.

Hopefully Stephen's son recovers soon. Can only imagine the worry their family is going though.

Ah, Pats. WTF was that ? Comfortably heading for a 2 goal win, and somehow contrive to fukk two points away. Eoin Doyle with three good chances to score, and manages to miss them all. Daragh Burns also with a one on one with the keeper, which he really should have converted. Deeply frustrating.

Liam Kerrigan is joining Como 1907 in Serie B. Nice move for him and hopefully it works out.

Guessing the scouts spotted him against Italy U21. Dennis Wise is the sport director there and they have been promoted twice in the past few years. Some Indonesian tobacco company is backing them.

I switched off last night near end of the game assuming Pats game had ended 2 nil.

Some shock this morning when I read the donegal sites to see Harps got draw in 96th min.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,051 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

    Good move for him.

Derry were heavily linked with him. But think he made the right choice!

At last, 3pts for us. When you are on an 8 game winless run, probably a good time to play ucd. Having said that, we were poor again. Injuries mounting. Can't see us giving Riga any sort of battle at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,090 ✭✭✭trashcan

Indeed. We can’t even complain about the amount of time added on, as Sam Curtis was down for quite a while before he went off.

The Shane Keegan to Cobh Ramblers rumour turned out to be true. Hopefully means we'll hear less of him in the media. Not a fan.

Super 5-0 away win for City and Galway fail to get anything from their game.

Bit of daylight appearing at the top of the First Division, 4 points clear!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,194 ✭✭✭Jarhead_Tendler

Easy win for Longford. We didn't have to be great as Galway were so poor. That young Murphy lad playing left back for Galway Is a lovely player.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,090 ✭✭✭trashcan

Gutted to lose tonight. Thought we played well, and deserved something from the game. Rovers just always seem to find a way to beat us. Guess that’s why...........etc etc.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,935 ✭✭✭kksaints

Should have gotten a draw. Our chance to goal ratio must be dreadful at this stage, another two sitters missed. Our defending for their second was dreadful and made Greene look like Messi. Have to say that I thought Lopes was excellent for Shams tonight, always there on the cover and solid in the air and in the tackle. Probably the best defender in the league.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,051 ✭✭✭✭NIMAN

It's looking like that's the league title over for another year.

Can't see Rovers throwing away that lead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,518 ✭✭✭✭DvB

Dundalk win their 2 games in hand and it only 4 points between them. League is nowhere near over, especially with the european games to come. League is still wide open IMO.

    Yeah, you're probably right.

I have a bad history of football predictions. I also said last years EPL was over at Xmas when City were 14pts clear I think. Look how that finished.

In just over 18 months Luke McNally has gone from playing LOI to signing for Vincent Kompany managed Burnley for £2 million, possibly going to be Nathan Collins' eventual replacement. I thought he looked decent for Drogheda in their matches against Shels during our First Division promotion battles back in 2019 but didn't see this rise fair play to the guy

Nah, I think it’s done. The gap between Rovers and the rest is worrying for everybody else really. Can see them winning the league by double figures again, much as it pains me to say it. Looked for a while like Derry might seriously put it up to them, before they imploded.

Another blockbuster visit to the Carlisle Grounds:

    1) World-class own goal scored by our former captain

    2) The PA announcer announced a "substitution for Cabinteely"

    3) Our centre back nearly got brained by a smoke-bomb thrown from outside the ground onto the pitch

    4) Our visiting journalists were banned from using their phones

    5) Bags are taken from supporters on the way in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,935 ✭✭✭kksaints

What was with number 4 in your list? Have never heard that happening before.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,384 ✭✭✭topmanamillion

They've been unofficially told they're in. After all the media attention, an FAI delegation going to the ground to look at the set up, the First Division being a club down and no credible rival application, its unthinkable Kerry FC wont kick off as a First Division club in 2023.

Presumably they'll look at financing the player side of things similar to Wexford in the early days - pay to play. Its going to be hard for them to get a foothold in Kerry but Tralee will be a welcome away day.

re 1.according to Flashscore he only came on in 94th minute.and scored the o.g. In the 95th minute,

Hope he steered clear of the lotto.

Any odd betting patterns on an own goal to be scored?

If he can manipulate a match like that in the space of a minute then he really should be playing at a much higher level.

Who is actually running the show in Bray? It seems that too many things are being done wrong for it just to be incompetence. They must be trying to make things look bad. Subs being announce as from cabo, copying the Galway match graphic, not allowing replies on twitter etc.

Banning people from using their phones is really weird stuff. I hope they refused

Cork sign Britton from Waterford, big signing, weakening a rival at the same time as strengthening.

Are Cork paying out silly money again?

Hard to understand why a lad who was supposedly attracting interest from League One clubs would decide to sign for a LOI First Division outfit instead.

Anyone know if Rovers European match is on telly, or a streaming service? Going to be away for it.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,925 ✭✭✭deisedude

It's going to be on RTE. Was advertised during the Women's National Team game the other night

RTÉ player will probably be region locked. Will see how it goes.

Worrying that Jack Byrne is out for so long, would have hoped he'd have been back for Europe. Looks like a long term injury of some sorts.

3-0 harsh on Drogheda in Inchicore.

Pats the better team but shocking decision by the ref to miss a push on Massey by Tunde for the second goal as we, Drogheda, were creating a few chances.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,254 ✭✭✭joeysoap

Bohs now probably out of race for top 3. Assuming Sligo win tomorrow that should 4 chasing 2 places ( 2nd & 3rd)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,279 ✭✭✭✭ben.schlomo

Big 3 points for us against Waterford. Both teams had chances. Waterford have some lovely players, Junior, Patterson, Idowu etc but their decision making is really poor.

Strange refereeing inconsistency in the game. We had a player fouled and injured, gets treatment, Waterford lad booked so our lad doesn't have to leave field after treatment. Same thing in the second half but our player is told to leave the field to everyone's bewilderment.

Another win for City, we remain top, handy home game next, in 2 weeks, v ......Galway. I'd be happy with a draw.

Hopefully Ramblers might get a draw off them next week.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,090 ✭✭✭trashcan

Expected him to blow for that alright, every other time. Drogheda player hit the ground he gave a free. Though in fairness there was an incident iN the Pats box in the second half which had a whiff of a peno about it. There was also what looked like a blatant handball in the box not given for Pats in the first half. Pats were very good in the first half I thought. Second half Drogheda got about us and made it much less comfortable. Wouldn’t have en surprised had they equalised. The two late goals, as you say, put a bit of a gloss on it.
