    Howdy,

Friend has moved to Limerick and doesn't really know many people - into cycling, rowing, carpentry, gym - looking for a bit of a social outlet and a way to meet new people, any suggestions of things going on now the days are getting a bit longer?

    Cheers!

Parkrun on Saturday mornings would be a safe bet. They'd have a choice of UL or Mungret or Killaloe, with Shannon due to start in the coming months as well.

UL Rowing Club are starting their all-abilities 5k runs tomorrow at 19:00. I think that's due to be on every Wednesday evening until the summer. Might need to register interest through Facebook though.

For nights out, there's a group called The Big Limerick Meet Up who do all kinds of social get-togethers. Loads of nationalities from around the globe. Think they usually meet in Ma Hogan's during the week and Bobby Byrne's at weekends.

For carpentry - call up to Joe McKenna's shop on Parnell St. the lads there may have info on woodwork/turning clubs in the area.

Limerick Cycling Club and St.Michael's rowing club would both be vibrant and welcoming I believe. There is also a strong tri club to ride with - Limerick Triathlon club.
