    Hi all.

My nephew is looking for a laptop.
    Going into secondary school.
Laptop will be used for Web surfing, Youtube, Netflix, The odd Word doc, Minecraft etc.

    Budget is 400-500.

Parents wont order online. Must be bricks and mortar store.
What is the best value out there in the likes of Currys/Harvey/Argos etc.
Can I get 8GB and 256GB SSD on an i3 for this budget?

    All help greatly appreciated

    MtM

this is 550 but probably worth the extra 50 euro over the stated budget due to better cpu (ryzen 5 has much better integrated graphics for something like minecraft than the intels and it's a 4-core cpu compared to 2 on an i3) and modern design that will age better than the monolithic plastic bricks that still dominate this sort of 15 inch budget segment.

Asus are a quality brand up with the best.

    AMD Ryzen 5 R5 3500U processor.
    Quad core processor.
    8GB RAM DDR4.
    256GB SSD storage.
    full hd 15.6 screen
modern attractive design and good weight for the size at 1.6kg (2kg plus the norm)
