they are basically saying that the rangers aren't going to enforce by-laws anymore because some ignorant assholes shout at them for doing that to the extent that one ranger had a nervous breakdown
“When we sent rangers out to talk to dog owners, they got a huge amount of abuse. One of the guys had a nervous breakdown,”

and they are going to expect these same assholes to agree just because someone speaks nicely to them? no, if these assholes feel it normal to abuse and cause mental health issues in rangers then they aren't going to do anything but go about their lives as they always do, doing what they want when they want with no regard or care for anyone else
“Now what we are not going to do is threaten them with bye-laws or rules or enforcement,” he said. “Instead, we are going to explain what is special about that part of the island and ask them not to go any further.”

these people are the same entitled **** who gave out about the flood wall down in the area too

    clontarfers clontarfing basically

A lot of dog owners are just another section of Irish society that think laws don't apply to them..

Those laws are for other dog owners because their dogs are the best trained, best behaved etc etc

    Self important and self entitled

and they are going to expect these same assholes to bother with signs explaining why they can't have dogs off leads in certain areas

I agree with you but of course this isn't exclusive to Clontarf as we know.

An idea would be to outsource dog warden duties to a private company in the same way car clampers are used. It might be more effective. If the current people tasked with the job are traumatised by the experience maybe they're in the wrong job?

Sure they closed off the tiny bit of the beach they did allow you to park on because some genius sunbathed in the cordoned off parking area and got driven over.

I thought the regulation was already that dogs were supposed to be on a lead, no?

It is. It’s the enforcement they’ve given up on.

yeah but the council have said that instead of enforcing their own by-laws they are going to try hugging and speaking in a gentler tone to these halfwits who think they are oh so special and by-laws aren't for the likes of them to obey
