Dentist & Orthodontist recommendations (pm please)

If anyone could pm me a recommendation for the following in Dublin, I'd really appreciate it.

• Dentist: For general checkup, scale & polish
• Orthodontist: One who specialises in all types of braces, particularly "Lingual Braces"

Just on the Lingual Braces topic, I got ceramic braces recently and they're not very noticeable at all, and were only a small surcharge over metal.

In comparison to Invisalign which some friends have had, I'd take ceramic based on my experience so far. Way less messing day to day.

Cheers for the response. I've looked into ceramics too and I might go for them, depending on how any consultation(s) go.

Did you get ceramics on the top, bottom or both? My bottom row appear to be in better condition than my top row, i.e. straighter, more aligned etc., so I'm thinking, if I need braces on both rows, I'd go lingual on top and ceramics on the bottom.

Only on the top so far, but will get bottom in a couple of months. Like yourself, my bottom teeth are straighter than the top.

I've had an expander fitted, SARPE surgery (palate expansion), and currently have another expander fitted, so no option for lingual braces.

Having had two types of expander, I can say I'd choose normal (ceramic) braces every single time over lingual braces.

Anything whatsoever on the inside of your teeth is uncomfortable, affects your speech, and is very difficult to keep clean. Couple that with how clear new ceramic braces are, and a white wire, I's really struggle to justify lingual braces.

It seems like you've had a time of it!

Ceramics are a really good option. I may end up going for white-wired ceramics on both the top and bottom but I'll see how I get on with my consultations for lingual braces first.

Also, I'm based in South Dublin but am willing to travel anywhere in Dublin to get the best treatment available.
