Farrell very evidently out of his depth. His failure to ring changes coming into the 6 nations by not demoting Sexton and Murray from first choice, was very telling.

France's young team under new management favourites for the title now. Paris won't be pleasant if we play like this.

    Eddie Jones respectful as ever

What a slap in the face this is for Byrne. Ireland effectively playing with an out half who’s on a 1/10 rating but it’s a better option than you.

    Intangible nonsense basically.

Yeah yeah, so we are told on here all the time. When you have it you know about it.

Henshaw is a lucky man, but what on earth was Cooney doing throwing his hands up and just stopping

May was surely both offside and knocked it on.

Wouldn't matter with Peyper. He's a dire referee.
Once he let Farrell off with his neck roll and attempt to eye gouge there was no hope of anything from him.

Should've been playing with a try scored and at least 10 mins against 14

maybe we should try the smelling salts England were snorting before the game , dreadful stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,723 ✭✭✭✭Squidgy Black

That's a shocking throw, but when have you ever seen a not straight call for being too far on the opposition side

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,891 ✭✭✭Zardoz

England have been offside all day long .
Its almost accepted as part of the game now it would seem .

12 minutes left and their coach goes down to congratulate the players. We are about 2 gears behind England in every way, the 2 tries in the first half was their faster reactions

We have been awful and deserve this. But peyper should not be allowed to referee. He’s clueless.

    Can't watch this, too painful.

Very quick to throw him under the bus you are. Mainsail changes were never going to happen in the space of a few weeks, and believing anything else is straight up delusion.

Tell me as well, who is the Roman Ntamack level prospect who Ireland can bring in to the senior team?

It’s indefensible that Sexton is still out there. Awful game and no good reason to not give Byrne the development minutes. Should be Sexton’s last start of the campaign.

Yeah man, you know best. These incredible sportspeople just dont want it as much, dont have as much heart and pashun. It's tired, cliched analysis but have at it.

How is Sexton still on the pitch??? Whatever about being undroppable sure no one is untakeoffable

May surely knocked that on clearly? Cooney caught napping though.

May offside - nowhere near back foot - and knocked it on.

Because we've no subs left. Byrne, Earls and Cooney are all on the field.

Byrne is on, Sexton is playing outside center by the looks of things

He has to be, no back subs left.

I will bet money that Ellis Genge ends up causing some massive problems for his teams over the years.

Actually Conway is HIA so no other option

Back your captain... every sports player has a bad day.
Jonny I think will be the first to put his hand up.

    Where was the advantage there?

    Shouts release 18, doesn't release.

    Doris is Ireland MOTM

    That's how bad it's been

No. I was critical of a novice coach replacing Jose schmidt when it was announced. Farrell has never been a head coach even at club level. Huge mistake by the IRFU

Will Farrell have the stones. To drop players going forward. Healy, Murry, Sexton and let the younger lads find the way forward. Killing me to say this but they are holding this team back.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,375 ✭✭✭✭prawnsambo

Johnny May had to be offside there before he tackled Cooney.

Do you not understand how central contracts work? It wouldn't matter who the coach is. Murray or anyone else on one would have to be dead to be dropped

    FFS Byrne.

Cooney isn't covering himself in glory. I don't think anyone is really

Murray was poor, but Cooney isn't helping his case by coming on and running down blind alleys

Happens in almost every game that the ref tells the 9 the ball is there and available

Which younger bucks are you suggesting should replace Healy, Murray, and Sexton ??

So you leave Murray in the team until he chooses to retire?

Healy was injured today so wasn't great, Murray must have naked pictures of someone to say he hasnt been dropped, Sexton doesn't have an alternative at the moment unfortunately, sorry but his club backup isnt an alternative

Fine, he’s still on because of a HIA.

But it’s time to move on. He shouldn’t have been captain to begin with given his age and the context of a 6 nations at the outset of a World Cup cycle. Don’t need to see him start against Italy and France.

Stupid, stupid decision for Cooney to go down the blindside on his own there. Byrne has no chance when trying to protect the ball.

Another Sexton cross field kick special
