Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Longest advantage ever.

Penalty advantage often goes for at least that long.

Must be the beginning of the end for this half back pairing. Both useless today

England: 'tell you what boys, lets catch Aki 2 miles behind the gainline always, because he's there every single time like clockwork at 3rd receiver with no support and no boot on him to speak of.' 'Right you are coach'.

Ireland still trying to soak tackles.. it's dated as a means of defending

When you've lost the collisions and the defensive line is back pedalling making dominant tackles isn't really an option.

Enghshd are reading the pass behind the back to a tee. Irish midfield getting caught behind the gain line regularly. There needs a complete change of tactics at half time.

Easy when all our passes are predictable and players are static

POM Murray and Sexton all passengers so far.

O'Mahony sacked their maul on the line, forced a turnover 5 out in the lineout and slowed them down in our 22 on a fast break. He isn't the problem.

Just our luck that England wake up!

All that ground given up and then a penalty on top of it.

    Shambolic.

Could easily stick 40 on us.

Aki and Ryan are the only two even remotely at the races.

Stander has been immense in defense. POM & VDF are MIA.

How on earth isn't that taking the scrum half out?

James Ryan is one of the few looking to put it up to them physically along with Stander.

    Appalling from1st to 40th

England on top form today. Not letting Ireland play at all.

    Atrocious garbage from Ireland.

Murray and Sexton off, please. And not just off, out of the next game and the one after that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,816 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Ugggghhhh Sinkler is an absolute t*t. He's lucky someone didn't smack him there reacting like that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 40,366 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

Flat and indecisive along with England bringing huge pressure would be how I'd describe Ireland’s first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,500 ✭✭✭✭fullstop

Sexton and Murray both need hooked at HT. neither will be I’m sure.

    Lucky it's only 17-0 tbh

That's different.. but we're not much different when there's a opportunity to get up and in.. compared to England's line speed we're simply miles off.

Not a time to defend POM or anyone out there. A collective **** show and I’m sorry to say look so badly coached out there

James Ryan has dominantly smashed so many of the English but the rest of the players are getting mullered

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,501 ✭✭✭swiwi_

James Ryan would want yo he careful with the flying clean outs. He hits a head and he’ll be off. You’re supposed to bind on.

Fast line speed = kicks in behind. No point taking static ball and being sent back 10 or 20 metres.

Obviously but you need players that can kick accurately

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,525 ✭✭✭kilns

The whole player out there showing a bit of heart and aggression is Ryan

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 32,136 ✭✭✭✭is_that_so

well that was really awful. Sure England are playing with energy but helped by being the only team on the pitch.

We're playing fairly ****e both those were two lucky tries for England

Ireland don't have a comeback in them. I'd back Wales to do it but not us

  • Subscribers Posts: 41,863 ✭✭✭✭sydthebeat

Sexton didn't want to know for that half..... Makes the mistake and then goes missing.

Shoveling the ball on from a static start ever since.

Had £100 on England today at 1.44, so happy enough on that front at least.

To be fair, two tries were soft/lucky.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,816 ✭✭✭✭bilston

    Ireland have been diabolical.

Lucky to be only 17-0 down.

We haven't fired a shot. We just go backwarss with the ball. It's as if Andy gave Owen our playbook, England just have all the answers defensively to everything we do!

    We aren't at the races.

Murray and Sexton have been really poor. But they are far from alone.

At least Ryan is hitting a few rucks with venom, that's about it really.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,706 ✭✭✭clsmooth

    Pros:

Ryan absolutely annihilating several rucks. Put some huge hits in.

    Cons:

How bad we look under any ball kicked to us
    Lack of invention
    Murray and Sexton’s kicking
    Rushed and inaccurate passing

Murray and POM off like I said before the team was announced

He's just playing the ref. Pepyer has no interest, just letting them ref themselves.

Has done it three times. Playing with fire although I'm glad to see someone look to put down a marker physically. Not really anyone else volunteering to stop the assault.

What's with the jersey pulling that Itoje in particular is doing?

We can give out all we want but this performance by England is the same level they crushed Aus and NZ 4 months ago.

We've been terrible but they have been brilliant.

England have been gifted two gifts of tries.

Apart from that they haven't created much.

Two poor teams in that first half.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,150 ✭✭✭✭LuckyGent88

Shambolic performance. Lucky to be nil!!! Horrific execution of every aspect of the game.

Murray started well but has been horrific since the first try, sexton is just lost and all over the shop, forwards getting bullied, attack that just goes backwards with the usual standing still lines and we are being dragged all over the place in the backfield.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,246 ✭✭✭✭Hurrache

Not really, they were gifted due to poor Irish play.

Must be watching a different game to me because I think all three have played well in defence.

Andy Farrell will have a short reign, what does it take to make changes when several players are clearly struggling with the pace?

Have to agree. I said when he was appointed it was a mistake. No offence to farrell, but if Schmidt who was a master coach compared to novice Farrell, ran out of ideas with this squad then its folly to think Farrell can solve the Irish problem. New coach, new approach and retire some household names.

Please bring cooney on murry been brutal

Yeah there does seem to be quite a bit of exuberant cleanouts.
