HDMI switch

Hi folks,

I just got a Nintendo Switch but have no free HDMI slots on tv. Plan is to get some sort of HDMI switch so I can connect PS4 and Nintendo to same input.

Can someone recommend one? It would need to be able to carry 4K for PS4.

Did a quick Google and from this Reddit thread they recommended this article which says how to do it. One note from the Reddit thread is that the PS4 needs to be powered off (not in Standby) for the renegotiation to take place when changing from PS4 to something else.

EDIT: Sorry, that article is for PSVR v1 with HDCP 2.2 not supported. But, main point in general seems to be to ensure to research the HDMI switch you intend to buy to ensure it can do what it claims, as there are apparently a lot of HDMI switches claiming they can do x and y but can't.

Buy a hdmi splitter with a remote. We use them in places which require multiple monitors. Works well and yes they are 4k.

That should do the job. You could of course get similar from a UK merchant but it'll cost a good few quid more.
