The HSE have been wheeling him out for the last few days all over the place telling us everything is hunky dory and of course Tubs was never going to ask the hard questions of him.

He's a disgrace, the bureaucracy of 'follow the HSE's advice, which is entirely based on the WHO's inadequate advice' is craven. The virus is spiralling into failed states all around the world, time to get real.

Between Bush fires in Oz, locusts in Africa and the spread of a vicious virus (any idiot who laughs off a 2% mortality rate is just that, an idiot) there is kind of a surreal feeling about this 2020 and that we are in real bother.

Going to be a testing few months ahead compounded by the economic backlash.

First presumptive positive case in Chile.
Seriously this is getting weird, about 20 different countries have reported first case in the last 3 days, and usually it's just the one. Before that it was mostly just clusters forming for weeks prior. Why would so many have their first all at such a similar period ?

I'm sure the HSE will mirror the Chinese government's response and deliver three square meals a day in the back window to you when you are put in quarantine

Would you blame them with all the hysterics online? Most people are controlled by the madness of the media more than ever. Its not their fault, the audience stays the same, the vehicle to bombard the masses is more intensified than ever.

There's stockpiling and making provisions for an extra few weeks.

Provisions for an extra 2 weeks is absolutely sensible considering the HSE directive on self imposed quarantine.

    Stockpiling for months is stupid.

That interview was frankly ridiculous. 6 Trillion wiped off the markets, the virus spreading to more countries every day including now Mexico City and Lagos, governments around the world warning people to prepare for the worst and yet the good old back slapping Irish establishment rounding the wagons and sending out one of their puppets on RTE for some good old PR.

That interview reminded me of the day before the bank bailout when the government goons stood on the steps of Leinster House and told us everything was alright. The Irish never change

You were shopping for hats? Not sure Lidl is the best bet for your millinery requirements

    A recommendation to people is:

If you've been to one of the countries that has coronavirus recently, or if you've been in contact with someone who has/had coronavirus, and if you display flu like symptoms, you self isolate yourself and phone your GP or a hotline from the HSE.

    What the holy fcuk.

I understand these instructions but it doesn't make sense or sit right with me. In that someone can contract the virus and walk around without showing any symptoms spreading the virus. This is where the hand hygiene comes in to limit your chance of picking up the virus from surfaces and contracting the virus. It still doesn't make sense. As conditions stand today, if I feel sick soon and feel flu like symptoms, and I haven't been abroad but how do I know if I have been in contact with someone with the virus or not? This bit doesn't make sense.

I was in the supermarkets last night and tonight and there was no empty shelves, loads of pasta, etc. The only time I saw a real panic was during the Beast from the East. The only thing that was sold out was hand gel!

It'd be very Darwinian if being hysterical or stupid increased the risks. This thread would thin out pretty quickly.

what does this even mean. I'm in north California where there are identified cases, but i'm hardly putting myself into quarantine when I get back next week. that sounds mental.

Is that the late late interview?

Ridiculous interview. There's talk of good hand hygiene practices and that's all well and good but the virus can enter through the eyes and I suppose through cuts on skin. If someone is walking in the early days of contracting the coronavirus, and not displaying symptoms, being careless coughing and sneezing, other people can still catch it. Hand hygiene will help but its not the full answer. Are we all supposed to walk around with goggles?

Same. Hand sanitizer sold out of Lidl rathfarnham and nutgrove.
Now that I think of it, neither Lidl nor Aldi had hummus for about a 6 or 8 week stretch back at the end of last year. I can't believe I missed the early indicator 🤔
