Can we deduce that first cases were ALWAYS this bad, but this wasn’t disclosed by China? I’m just wondering this not preaching it.

I'd say it's because these arent really the first cases, just the ones that got severe enough to be noticed

There is a confirmed case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the Republic of Ireland. They are receiving treatment in hospital. Infection prevention measures are in place. Public Health Specialists are working to identify contacts who need advice and follow-up

Thank God. I was getting worried. This person will get the best treatment I'd say and all will be looking great at the HSE.

We're fcuked, the wind will blow it all over the island now.
The westerly wind will blow a virus on the east all over the island?

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,715 ✭✭✭✭Kermit.de.frog

At least it puts to bed notions the HSE are asleep at the wheel.

I don't think it works like that....

    What is?

Suggesting that the HSE is world class. If you’d ever spent an hour in A&E in Clonmel Hospital you’d know how utterly ludicrous that statement is.

Probably someone who was in Italy

Correct, a man who had been in northern Italy

Could that be the same here though? Have people been walking around with the “flu” unknowingly spreading c19? We’ll never know I suppose but the main thing is this isn’t as bad as a lot of people think when you get it. I. Think the stats show this.
In saying that i did start this question off with disputing the stats from china:eek:

    Surprised.

That we didn't have a confirmed case here weeks ago. Flights should have been stopped from affected areas. Maybe they will now?

    What is?

    Your statement. Keep up.
Actually once you get into the system, the HSE is world class.

Read this thread especially the posts of Pseudonym121.

No one apart from close relatives/partners knows who has been in contact really. Think about it. Nor do we know where or what hospital.

    Ignorance is bliss I suppose.

So next couple of days will look like this in Ireland:

Sunday: Bread cleared from the supermarket shelves
Monday: The same people clearing out the bread will be spraying their cough/sneezes left right and centre on public transport and in their work colleagues faces
