Grand day here , just bit breezy and chilly . Nothing sinister or unworldly or house groaning or creaking .

    Onshore Ireland .

Glad reached NE Galway at 1030 and indoors since. Rough out there since arrived from a quieter east coast earlier this morning.

Power went for over an hour this part of west Clare. Don’t trust it to last before it goes again. There are infrequent severe gusts on top of steady high winds.

Power flickering here in west sligo with a brief thunder storm there

Temperature has dropped quite a bit here in the last half hour, some sleet, wind has eased a little at the moment but strong gusts. North Cork.

Pretty violent gusts in south Galway. Slates off the roof already, thank god we moved the car away from the house.

It is getting quiet windy now in my exposed part of south west Laois. Putting a few kettle bells on the trampoline just to be safe:cool:

No trees were harmed in the posting of this message, however a large number of electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

Non event? It’s not even due until 1PM here. Let’s see if you still say non event in 2/3 hours. Do people read the actual weather warning before blindly commenting here?

Stuck my head out the door here in connamara and almost got clobbered by a flying bin which clattered off the wall and sailed into the garden wall where it is now performing a merry dance against my rose bushes !! Power went for 10 minutes earlier but back again hopefully to stay.

Some do, most don't, and some come to just troll and antagonize unfortunately.

The sustained wind speed isn't particularly spectacular here in West Clare, it's the gusts the really pack the punch. It seems to come in peaks and troughs, it can get rather benign for a short while before a period of strong gusts arrive.
