Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That guard from the flats seems sound. He obviously knows the score. Pity they can't bring in a similar law as the UK have in relation to scrambles.

Drugs and counterfeit stuff etc is destroyed.

Cars and assets are sold with cash paid to the exchequer (same for cash).

The saying is true, you need a licence to have a dog or own a TV.....nothing to have kids.

Some of these kids have no chance with parents like this.

Can the council evict parents who allow their drug dealing kids to operate from council owned property?

Gotta say this has been a fantastic series of insightful television. Bravo to all involved, one the best programmes this country has ever produced.

How about fine the parents and if they refuse to pay deduct it at source from their welfare payments.

Wow I'm absolutely heartbroken at the two kids in the back of the car when their parents are doing drugs, the poor lads, what chance will they have? Would they be taken off the parents for something like that??

Never been out in blanch, finglas or Cabra but after watching this those places are absolute kips. Surely any sane person living there would want to get out pronto. There might be nice areas there but after watching this show I can't believe thst is the case..

Yes under their own rules, rare to happen....

Jaysus I’d say I’d last only a few hours as a Garda because I’d clock one of those cheeky scummy b******s.
You’d need the patience of Job to do that work.

They council can get an exclusion order to get the drug dealing kids out of the house and estate.

They're big areas and they'll be highlighting the best (or worst) bits for maximum impact - just like you cant assume everyone who lives there is dealing drugs.

Those poor newbie Gardai that recently were sworn in with only a few weeks training would get some baptism of fire if they were stationed in that area.

Fair enough but after watching this I'd certainly hate to live in those areas...seems lawless out there.

Is there a reason these aren't going up on the Virgin player?

Yes next week, they previewed it as the end of tonights.

I think it was not on last week because of mental health suicide in a show that has been put back to a later date.

That's a rather silly comment. You've never been to any of the areas, and you've only seen snippets of them on the show and have classed them as "absolute kips". Have you any idea how big these areas actually are?

Most if lived on welfare could not afford to buy the kids scramblers.

Welfare is not the main income.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,031 ✭✭✭Slippin Jimmy

I have to say fair play to the gardai here. They took time to actually engage with some of the youths and have a bit of a laugh with them. Hopefully they can't been seeing as the enemy now.

They're doing a great job in very difficult circumstances. The parents are to blame. Canada Goose jackets and they dont question it or a Rolex watches worth 32k plus. I'm working my arse off the past couple of weeks and I would not be able to afford these even with overtime.

I'm not jealous, I live within my means and have a decent lifestyle.

In some cases yes but still welfare is a steady income which keeps them going when no drug money is coming in.

It’s worth trying anyway ala LPT deductions from those that don’t otherwise pay.

I'm just going what the garda are saying about the area particularly in the opening credits. They seem to confirm it like the wild West there.

As the previous poster said this K district is huge and covers a wide range of different areas. Yeah some of these are a bit like the wild west but most are fine. I've been living in Blanch for 12 years and the most excitement I've seen on my road is a wheelie bin being knocked over. And it was the wind that did that

Looked like an Audemars Piguet, so I’d say €32k is about right.

I'm in a quieter place and they've been set on fire and burglary is rife.....

'My War On Drugs' is actually a great follow up to have on now.

Story of an addict who is clean for the past five years touring the city centre and her old stomping ground. Very insightful into what's happening on the ground there as seen from 'the other side'.

A great piece of public service TV from virgin. Well done to all involved.

It's a great TV show alright, but it still demonstrates that they are not a great service. They need more power to be able to properly clamp down on these scumbags. Imagine living there, and scrambler bikes at 3am on Christmas 'morning' running rampant. What kind of life is that? And the Gardai do little to nothing.

    It's beyond irritating.

I find it kind of comic-tragic that these dirtbags can earn enough cash to buy tacky (and a little camp, tbh) ****e like LV washbags and Gucci flip flops (dafuq?), yet still spend their lives hanging around their ma's garden in Finglas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,480 ✭✭✭pgj2015

CAB is a great thing. That is probably why they cant go buy an apartment or house as they dont have a job so CAB would just take it off them.

An awful lot of these lads are closet homos as far as I can tell. What self‐respecting bloke would even walk around with some of this s**te? Then there was the fat ginger hard man hiding behind his ma's gate the other week telling the guard how he really really wanted to ride him. Fairly sure he went straight inside after that and whacked a big one out over some Brazilian gay hardcore on Pornhub. Add on all the fake tan and fondness for shirtless gym bunny pictures some of the cnuts love taking of themselves and you can't help thinking a fair amount of the tw*ts are fair steaming.

    Nothing wrong with being gay

Unfair to associate anyone who is gay with these dregs of society

Didn't say there was anything wrong with being gay at all. Just some contrast between these lads and the hardshaws I remember back in the day.
