8Chan Owner Sues Old Owner For Saying Mean Things About Him

File this one under "you couldn't make this sh*t up", for anyone unfamiliar 8chan is the worse version of 4chan, which was set up when the latter started censoring some content like child pornography and neo Nazi terrorist threats.

8Chan is one of the main hotbeds for neo Nazis to intermingle and discuss their plans, manifestos, and plots for mass murder. The Christchurch shooter, the El Paso shooter, the Poway shooter, and the Hanau shooter last week, to name just a few from the last year alone all plotted their attacks on 8chan, posted manifestos and have been openly celebrated by the user base after committing these attacks.

They also defend this as their right to free speech, and online you see far right types rush to defend them and their likes at any length. The **** show when Alex Jones got kicked off Twitter for harassing grieving parents and goading his listeners to continue to do so is another example.

Well... It turns out the owner of this supposed free speech at all costs website is suing the former owner. Why? For calling him big mean nasty words like... "senile" and "incompetent".

The case stems from Twitter posts Mr. Brennan, who gave up control of 8chan in 2015, directed at Jim Watkins, who took over the site and also lives in the Philippines. Mr. Watkins, whose message board contains unapologetically racist material that has frequently cheered deadly violence, sued Mr. Brennan after tweets that referred to Mr. Watkins as “senile” and called the site’s moderators “incompetent.”

In the Philippines, cyberlibel is a criminal offense that can be punished with prison time.

It's funny how quickly these "free speech!" types immediately change tune when even the slightest utterance is made against them, though it's not remotely surprising.
