Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Are system or regular (but not combi) gas boilers available with separate CH and DHW temperature controls?, ie if DHW only required then the boiler will automatically set the boiler water temperature to say 80C (like the combis) to give hot water fast heat up/recovery & legionella protection and when CH only requested will either set the boiler water temperature to follow manual setpoint or/and weather temperature compensated.

What your ask has been available since HE gas boilers first came on the scene so there should be quite a few manufacturers offering this as a option by now.

What is the lowest (gas) boiler return temperature that you (or anyone) has observed?.

I’m more interested in the other end :) most home owners are happy with a boiler set 50-55c with retro fitted boilers.

Ideal, Intergas, Viessmann & i think Ariston (not 100% about the ariston) are all capable. Most will work on a system called priority hot water, i.e. the system will divert all energy to the cylinder while it needs to be heated so no heating. Yuo would need a decent cylinder with a high recovery coil. The ideal works just on time so both heating & hot water can be on at the same time but when this is the case it defaults to the higher temp to both circuits.

Ariston have had that capability since the 80s :)
