New budget PC for gaming - €600.00 Budget

Buying my son a new gaming PC. I know 600 is not too much of a budget, but I want him to upgrade it as he goes along. He can earn a few quid and buy the extra bits himself. So focus on MB I think and maybe GPU.

just off topic a bit but think your adding to much towards OC, its very little gain on new systems, most games these days run smooth on anything that can hit 4ghz with few cores. as reality wise aside some record scores most improvement is 3-10% if lucky on stable side, as good mobo would be 150ish, gpu at least 350, so leaves you with spare few quid for some ddr4 16gb memory to throw in.


of course if your goal is to go 4k on ultra then youd need at least double budget. but for what you already have 600, should buy enough for another few years at least of decent hd gaming.

You can easily add more storage when you need it. Will be a little over budget getting it all from Amazon but I would do that for less hassle.

GTX 1660 would be a much better card and keep him within his price range, or maybe a tiny bit over. But definitely worth the upgrade.

Don't bother with intel. This is the best processor you can get in this price range. Amd beat them at pretty much every price level these days.

Put the money saved from storage into the gpu. A 1660 should do the trick.

Keyboard and mouse I'm not so sure. To include a decent 1 in the budget the gpu would need to be cut back down to the 570 card. You can get some cheap combo sets on Amazon that will do for a while. Buy some good ones later when they are on sale.

Yes I think I will go with that build and try out my first AMD processor. Many thanks for your help. Incidentially, any suggestions on cabeling that I will need or thermal compound etc.

No problem.

Plenty of guides on building and cabling on youtube. You should be able to hide most of the cables behind the right side panel. Only minimal parts coming through the rubber cable holes that are nearest to the motherboard connection for that cable. If that makes sense.

No need for thermal compound. The included cooler comes with it pre-applied in a thin layer.
