Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Watching the late late and reading between the lines i believe they've given up on trying to stop it or even contain it properly , if they were really worried about containment they would be stopping flights and cancelling the parades. Their attitude reeks of theres nothing we can do so we will just pretend for as long as possible.

Heads should literally roll for the piss poor decisions that were made in the past 4 weeks.

The language being used is very reminiscent of that used in 07-08 about about the property market crash. Don't panic, don't create panic, listen to the experts, it wont be as bad as it's being made out etc.

we've been eating wild animals for hundreds of thousands of years. taken from their natural state with no preservatives or other chemicals and living their best life. many people prefer eating animals killed in the wild as much more ethical and safe than mass farmed animals. i suggest you watch some documentarys on where most of our chicken comes from for example.

Did you see the video of wild rats being boiled alive so to easily remove the fur?

Im not saying its a video from china, but it happens somewhere.

worldometers now covered in ads and pop ups. says it all for me...

Yep, nothing in the media is neutral towards the actual truth, it’s sensationalist to generate as many views as possible, this virus must of generated the most views on the news apps in years. Look at boards and this thread, by the time this comment is posted the quoted comment will be pages behind, good news doesn’t sell.

Ridiculous, you wanted to ban irish people from returning?
Also what what stop them driving to another country and getting a flight to ireland.

Do you normally jump over the wall straight into a deep pond of sensationalism?

The OP detailed banning flights from infected regions. Nothing about stopping us getting the eejits back via charter plain etc for those who went galvanting back and who should be thrown into isolation for a bit of R&R

Yeah if they went elsewhere and flew - any half decent point of entry checks will spot that! Oh yeah that's right we dont have that either lol.

Ah well sure we'll be grand... We're all a great bunch of lads to be sure...

Can be transmitted on any medium - it's why China was doing this

Yeah dont forget the mould dirt and bugs on all those vegetables and cereals or that birds crap all over them as well - eeeuughh .

Btw they dont eat bat in China. Probably one of the few things animal vegetable and mineral they don't eat. But if a lamb is a 'baby sheep' what do you call a baby bat? You know just for a bit of saccharine emotive appeal like ...

But why did they have dead bat laid out at the market?

49 deaths in Italy today. Seems to be a deteriorating situation there.

2 weeks ago they were at 11 cases.

I do actually shudder at the thoughts of what we will be like by end of March. Please start preparing.

Im hearing this evening that the suspected community transmission case in cork icu has been solved and is not in fact community related.

The patient already had pneumonia and contracted coronavirus in the hospital from a doctor or a nurse. They arent sure yet.

This means CoVid 19 has been on our soil longer than the first reported case then? And if the patient got it in there from a healthcare worker or another patient surely there will be more cases within days? I was wondering why there was more media coverage and staff sent home in CUH than there was in UHL. Only a matter of time before staff and patients from UHL test positive though too.

I did half think today’s figures might mean we won’t get this virus too bad in this country but now I am not so sure.

My head is a mess trying to figure out dates and timelines.

Let them come home then isolate them.

How could they have come home when you and everyone else banned the flights!!!!!!!

    This thread is mad.

The Government should have banned all flights from Italy, surely it is in the interest the Irish people safe and the government can compensate the airlines. I an starting to resent them big time, they just dont want to cause any ripples at all, complete cowards.

Eh, it was Irish people who brought it here. Banning flights wouldn't have stopped them getting home.

    Lets make this very simple.

If you bring in people uncontrolled from a 'hot' area like China or Northern Italy you will bring in new cases. If proof were needed nearly all or perhaps all of our cases have been linked to travel from these areas.

I know people can travel other routes but many won't reducing the risk.

    Stop these flights now!
