To be fair to everyone concerned, I think this is something that is uncontrollable now, and cases will be popping up everywhere in due course. It is inevitable.

Feel sorry for all concerned, damned if they do, and damned if they don't.

My fist bump goes out to all front line health care workers who go and do their jobs whilst possibly being exposed to this, while many are stocking up on tomato sauce and pasta.

Kudos to them.

HSE usually don’t announce new cases until after 8pm, well that has been the case for the last tw announcements.

First Dublin then Belfast Clare now Cork! Are the flights still coming in unimpeded from Italy?

It may well be that the case in Clare was picked up and tested quickly due to being taken seriously as a medic and he knowing what to do. Other Italian returnees may not be so quick to spot or taken seriously?

It’s not outside anyone’s control to hold back information for At least 12 hours when contact is key for curtailing infection.

It’s actually very much within their control, but unfortunately the powers that be want to be grabbing the headlines.

The positive test in cork happened overnight last night, I just heard about it at 8am this morning. It’s completely unacceptable that this information is kept secret until 8pm this evening. It puts high risk people in additional danger.
