In England they say they will pay from day one and are telling everyone to self isolate coming back from high risk countries whether u have symptoms or not.

The HSE is beginning to find out that Ireland is not the exception, it's spreading here just like everywhere else. Comical Ali will be coming under pressure in the coming days.

A healthcare professional I know when asked about the local situation here said "Limerick is fcuked". An opinion of course but they have a good background and good information.

The UK have changed the way they are dealing with people who have come from Italy, saying that due to the fact the virus got there a few weeks before anywhere else, it has spread incredibly fast there as they didn't realise what they were dealing with. If anyone has come from Italy, self quarantine for 2 weeks. They are also looking at minimising flights.

Any update from Harris before this weekend for here?

I guess they could have a portable supplementary oxygen supply like people with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease - basically a small oxygen bottle on a trolley and a tube looping around the head and supplementing the air supply via short nasal tubes.

I suppose there could be issues with supply and the added fire risk of having a significant additional number of oxygen bottles in the community with people who are not used to the extra care that might be needed around them.

I was in Treviso and Venice at the end of January. Glad I went when I did and not a few weeks later.

This is research of the virus genome by a Chinese scientist called Yu Wenbin. It is not clear in the abstract from above link but according to a simplifying summary in below link- possible propaganda, but who knows - the genome can be divided into 5 groups, A,B,C,D,E according to age of evolution and so far China has only as far back as group C. Other places, like US, have all 5. The implication is the virus did not originate in Wuhan or Hubei, but was amplified there by the market.

Anyways could be a load of propaganda but still...at this point who knows for sure. Posted as matter of possible interest...

No and we haven't had a prolonged power cut in years (it takes more than 24 hours to defrost) and it's only a small chest freezer and A rated - the food is on constant rotation so its not like anything goes to waste.

The NHS is asking people returning from Italy to self isolate if they have symptoms of the corona virus. I mean with all due respect to my fellow country men and women but unless you have a very good reason to be going to Italy and you go then you'd want your head examined at this point.

They are very much focused on controlling the narrative and release of information.
The simple fact is that within minutes of a school sharing detail on contact tracing it is shared on social media.

The numbers and locations are not only being shared as and when on Social Media but are driving a sense of distrust in the current government handling strategy.

It illustrates the total lack of respect the establishment have for the people, they don't believe we can be trusted to know the truth, its better that we're kept in the dark for our own sakes. Look at the difference between Ireland and the somewhat authoritarian Singapore when it comes to the dissemination of information to the public.
