Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Lancet report said in 3% of cases in a 41 patient study.

That's 1 person in that study. Hardly conclusive.

Who says he had symptoms? I doubt someone would be struck off for it.
He should have self isolated if he came back from northern Italy though, incredibly selfish no doubt.

Thats the least he deserves if that stupid.

Can’t see schools being open next week and probably should remain closed for a number of weeks

Its probably only a half truth but the doctor in question was in work after he returned home and was working as an out of hours GP as well as working in his own practice. That was confirmed on news

The tweet said he had pneumonia while treating someone, I find that hard to believe.

Clare case is a Doc. Did a shift in Limerick ED while unwell. 13 docs now in self isolation while they try and contact trace the patients he saw....it was a Locum shift....he is also a GP.

It's quite likely he had absolutely no symptoms whilst working. The thing with this virus seems to be that you can be carrying it without any symptoms.

Mad really. It wont be contained . It cant be contained. We can only just wash and clean hands and try best not to spread without closing down the whole country and grinding everything to a halt. The show must go on

Is there any place that this doctor hasn't worked?
So many rumours about where he did shifts and the WhatsApp messages keep adding more like he had fever and sneezing all over the place

Well seeing as a couple of mates of mine are the docs in self isolation I’m pretty sure this is true.

The Cork case is concerning. But also the patient got sick some time ago, if it is indeed in the community for weeks there hasn't been any great spike in pneumonia here.

    All pneumonias being tested now.

Have you been told to work from home? I don't know why companies aren't telling staff who can do this to just do it. It makes so much sense from their point of view given the decrease in the likelihood of their staff contracting the virus and actually having fit and healthy staff to work in the coming weeks yet I don't see too many companies actually doing it yet.

Many many workplaces simply don't have that facility. Also many workplaces where there is customer contact have recorded phone call requirements. This doesn't work at home.

I actually think we are going to have a huge problem if doctors & Gps start contracting this or self isolating already a shortage of doctors in this country the HSE will be very thinly stretched to say the least

Easter is in the middle of April.

I think the poster was referring to 'Easter', as may be suggested (quickly) by the HSE/DOH!

Don't be silly Kermit. Chinese researchers have informed us that the virus in fact came from elsewhere.

I can't see any reason not to believe that.

Too early for Easter break that's not till April.

Dont think schools will close across the country just yet. Look at the UK for example. Only closing where required
