Where to find Electrician training meterial?

Hello,

Where can I find the training material for becoming an electrician in Ireland? Is this freely available somewhere?

I just want to get a bit more knowledgeable about how a house is wired and the regulations around it.

I'm working as an electronics engineer for several years now but found I was a bit clueless this week when some faulty appliance in my house this week kept causing the power to trip! I'd like to rectify this.

I'd start with YouTube, lots of good stuff on there for England, ours is very similar
