But bars can open for takeaway in level 5 guidelines? How is that breaching the guidelines?

I thought just for food not drinks

Placing the country at Level 5 Restrictions will have the following implications:

people are asked to stay at home. People should work from home unless providing an essential service for which their physical presence is required (see below for essential services)
people will be permitted to exercise within a radius of 5 km of their home
there will be a penalty for movement outside 5km of home, with exemptions to this for essential work and essential purposes (see notes to editors)

You can also be sure this was broken...
it is possible to meet with one other household in an outdoor setting which is not a home or garden, such as a park, including for exercise

Place was a mess this morning according to comments on CorkBeo facebook page & many folk commenting that the place was packed and social distancing not being followed.

I hate the term "wet markets".
The truth is - that most Irish food markets would be considered "wet markets" - The English Market, in Cork would be classed as a "wet market" in China.

Except, that's not what defines a "wet market" in China.
People were complaining about China's wet markets continuing to operate without understanding the term "wet Market". A wet market is just one that sells raw meat and/or fish - it has nothing to do with live caged animals - wild or not.

Because the origin of the virus is thought to have come from a wet market that also had live, caged, wild animals - the term "wet market" became associated with the sale of live animals. As I understand it, the vast amount of wet markets in China do not sell live animals and the vast majority of Chinese people do not eat wild animals.
I have a wild, Irish rabbit in my freezer - maybe I should be called barbaric ?

The first guy in CUH who was picked up as the initial known case of community transmission in Ireland had 780 contracts.

Looks like 'those' using Sweden as a great example of how it shouldn't be as serious were well wrong, although since even early summer they were wrong then too.

The UK’s lockdown was almost as strict as ours (albeit shorter) and they have a higher incidence rate, so I don’t think they were wrong at all.

They started later and went a few weeks with a herd immunity bull**** plan and quickly backtracked.

Those few weeks were vital and did a lot of harm. 40k+ deaths and counting.

Doesn't prove your point about Sweden at all.

Second tests back, two negative and one positive unfortunately. No idea how as was doing all the same distancing as us! Just goes to show how important the follow up tests are!

Agreed- bit like the old wet pub thing. Daft description tbh.

Some of the videos which were being pushed early on supposedly showing wet markets in China - clearly weren't in China.

A lot of it was being used to push fake news etc.

Yes the famous bat soup video wasn't filmed in China and it was in 2016.
Most of the other viral (:D) videos have been debunked as not originating in China, too.

    Interesting article here.

Nope, they went into lockdown on March 16th, the same week we did. They still have a higher incidence rate than Sweden. It does prove my point. Try again.
