Co-Op in Kanturk has caused a nice few cases in that area!

Carrigaline way up as expected again - parents just don't get it down here, like a holiday time in the park still all mixing - no masks - no social distancing, crazy

Do you really think that Carragaline is remarkably different from anywhere else, that its teens and parents are different to any other town around?
Also if your local teens are responsible for the high numbers, how did Carragaline get down to really low rates before? If what you are saying is true, the numbers simply wouldn't have come down.
    I've asked you this before.

To be fair teens congregating is essentially households mixing........... we didn't have the huge amount of infection in the community before. Numbers were at lower highs.

The number for the last 3 weeks are huge and we aren't testing close contacts........ I fear many close contacts don't heed guidance to stay at home if they aren't going to get a test. And of course if they aren't tested their own close contacts aren't even flagged as close contacts.

That said, I doubt Carrigaline has more teenagers then most other towns/suburbs that are behaving as described.

These are local electoral areas so no Cork North Central - those numbers would be included in Cork North West or Cork North East

    Carrigaline LEA =/= Carrigaline town.
Includes Passage, parts of Rochestown/Mount Oval, Crosshaven, Ballygarvan and as far down as Ringaskiddy.
I think you’re being a bit too freaked about Carrigaline. I know of a ton of cases in Passage, for example.

The road outside is as busy as ever due to people using it to avoid a checkpoint down the road. They really should move them around to different locations.

Probably am a little bit tbh, I've had 2 gran children got it, one working in a hospital, other a teen, and a bloody son who should have known better than gallavanting, I' shop early, and stay away from groups as much as possible, over 60 so I tend to be cautious, my relatives caught this in Derry where herd immunity was encouraged,
Now paying the price, at least down here the vast majority are adhering to government advice

FAO beer revolution, I was overtly rude with you and won't happen again, I'll simply agree to disagree on our little battle

On one point though I stand firm, I didn't pass any racist comment on Dinos staff, and wouldnt

Carrigaline LEA includes part of upper Rochestown (past Raffeen, also known as Hilltown/Ballyorban) and bits of Carrs Hill up to the back of Mount Oval. You can check the map.

... not sure what that's got to do with COVID? Could have been a serious accident etc.

Of course, it's all down to dastardly teens meeting up in parks !!!

Nothing to do with households intermixing and families getting together during the Christmas period. After all, the virus doesn't spread indoors.

    421 today.
Unfortunately it will likely remain stubborn for a while as contacts of cases filter through.

That is a LOT of cases over 42. The age keeps rising every day. WTF?

Why they cannot adhere to restrictions and provide the info for tracing

Teens mixing in large groups is everywhere, I wish the Gardai would start fining the parents, many close contacts even after being contacted by tracers are not attending tests, that also should be mandatory and also fined

I do think children and teenagers to a large extent are causing households to mix unnecessarily. In my local area when I go for a walk I do see loads of teens out together and I doubt that they are all siblings.

In my estate kids are out together every afternoon and they are all definitely from different households. I havent seen my friends in person in months. Why should these kids be any different? Parents really need to take more responsibility.

I have a relative who is 19 and her parents still allow her to meet up with her boyfriend of 4 or 5 months! On top of that he is well over her 5km limit. Yet I know couples who are together years who live in different households who are sticking to restrictions!

Obviously there's as many adults to blame
