    1m available and 860k administered?
The 1m was to be delivered from last Friday to end of April iirc.

860k administered in April would be great IMO.

Call me cynical, but I can't see it happening. There's been no consistency when doses have been provided so far so there's very little reason for confidence in any future predicted increases. I'm not blaming the Government, they can't tell us what the suppliers are doing to do in the future.

I've little doubt we'll get 2m +/- 10% over April and May tbh.
AZ are the only supplier who were completely off track so far, J&J and Pfizer are powerhouses, they'll deliver.

Only worry about J&J is that they're committed to prioritising the US until mid-May at least.

43 in Cork today. Looks like some sort of backlog, given only 553 positive swabs today but 761 reported cases.

Was just wondering myself where they found such a large surplus!

I presume that computer simulations have been done to see the quickest, least numbers of deaths vaccine roll out solutions? May indicate such a move overall.

Your giving the HSE far to much credit.

There were 713 positive swabs yesterday. Would expect at least a day's lag between swab reporting and case reporting.

Yes there was 250 ish from yesterday left over, quite rare nowdays that there's a backlog but it happens nonetheless

You'd imagine there must be an outbreak in one area for that higher number. Meat factory or direct provision maybe.

I recall hearing last week that there was DP issues, not sure if that was on here or elsewhere. As you say, must be an outbreak somewhere.

I know it's a backlog but hopefully we'll be back to usual range of cases tomorrow

My dad got the first dose this morning! Strangely though they haven’t given him a date for his second dose - they said they’ll ring him...

My mother got her first one early March. No date given for second shot, but got a text last week and second shot given 4 weeks to the day after first. I wouldn't be concerned about it for now.

Both a national backlog reported today and a likely outbreak

Was it KRAC DP centre again?

DP issues in Kinsale Road, Carrick on Suir and Tramore. Not huge numbers but they add up. Dont forget schools

In their defense the health authorities in this country have only known for a year that vaccinations would be the way out of this.

That’s hardly enough time to organize a properly functioning IT system to manage the vaccines when you have pay raises to be signing off for yourself.

The system is functioning well enough so that such an incident is an outlier, to be fair. The standby list mitigates against such events, and I did see the person was also on a standby list.

Administering 6/7m doses won't be flawless.

You can rest assured that particular healthcare worker has put in more than a few sub par shifts over their career (like the rest of us) and made a mistake or three on the job also.

    What’s the incubation period again?

    What’s the incubation period again?

Iirc on average 5-6 days, but up to 14 days.

Have family in the State,s one registered for two different vaccination locations as one is close to work one is close to home this is normal in their State. They received their Moderna in site A and advised Site B they had and to cancel , they have since received 4texs and a couple of emails telling them to come to the site B where they cancelled so its not unique to us

Yup, big picture view is what matters here......... how much of 2m vaccines will be administered in April and May. The devil isn't really in the detail in this one.

But sure, folk will always seek to find fault :)
