CUH remains at 4 tonight, ICU down to 0 from 1. Doesn't appear to be a death, which is good.

On the way back from a fab day out and around the cliffs of the old head of Kinsale, we stopped off in the town for coffee and a 99... wow - every bin was overflowing and loads of rubbish on the ground.. the place looked like a gigantic bin exploded.. terrible to see.. wft? The town was v busy.. had obv been heaving all day.. is this gonna be the story for the rest of the summer? CC workers needed to empty them at intervals me thinks.. tbf there wer loads of bins.. I guess they wer just filled up really fast due to the volume of people passing thru/hanging out etc.. hope this will be resolved.. not just in Kinsale but in any area where this is happening..

Maybe people could simply bring their rubbish home.

    well that's a lie

supervalu have put spray at all their trolly collection points with blue roll and hand santizer as well, pexiglass at all check outs as well, staff wearing masks

    Dunnes are doing the same

    tesco the same

    lidl and aldi the same

    centra the same.

you can't say the supermarkets have failed when they haven't

Great numbers on Friday. Nearly at the 35,000 per day needed to meet targets. Hopefully the weekend doesn’t see a huge a drop off. Personally a good few who got vaccinated at their GP’s yesterday so numbers should be good

Of course I can. Why not?

Other countries manage it. Ever been in Tokyo? No bins. Japanese cities took away public bins after sarin gas attacks in the 90’s. people just don’t litter. Spotless. Denmark is similar, don’t think I remember a bin in a city there. Saw plenty of people sweeping the footpath outside their own homes...

I’ve taught my children not to leave a trace of litter. If a five year old can grasp the concept, it’s really not too difficult for an adult.

Cannot wait for masks to be over though. Saw another eejit today walk out of a shop in douglas, past a bin, throwing their disposable mask on the ground with a flourish.

People get trained that it's not acceptable, no doubt it is improving, and no doubt that the way to improve it is training children from 5 etc that it is not acceptable to litter.

regards litter.. I know other countries can do it - I lived in Switzerland and there was a joke about "who would be the 1st to find a cig butt on the ground".. Zero litter there.. but I fear we have a looooong way to go here..

Not that far, if you see and are brought out by your parents collecting litter in your area you will never be a litterer

And normal order has resumed with the HSE back to approx 16,000 jabs administered on Saturday only. Really is a shambles the complete roll out and ramp up. Our figures amoung the EU states is terrible also.

Ah wisht will you! It’s no shambles it’s supply that’s constraining the rollout!

We'll see how smoothly things go when supply is no longer an issue. I suspect that we will still have a slow pace.

it's well documented that saturday is the last day of the rollout week and is built for leftovers, sunday is when deliveries arrive and monday is when they're delivered. no clue why this has to be repeated every time

The weekend slow down would be ok if the mid week ramp up existed. But it doesn’t. Supply issues are not the problem currently

Other EU country’s getting the same supply from the same sources are ahead of Ireland in doses per 100. This chart was one that posters here kept referencing early in the thread to show how great we were doing but it hasn’t been seen in a long time since we’ve fallen way back on it

    I know I shouldn't, but.....

Sunday is when deliveries arrive where?
And what's the difference in the Monday deliveries?

I wouldn't be hiring you for any sort of efficient supply chain gig anyway.... Holy shi.t
