will anyone in Galway even come within 50 of that? Guessing not

To think some have to pay 500 and others 400-430 for 1000l is ridiculous, yet they can charge what they like when all are doing same in some counties

    480 from Stewarts...lowest I could find.

so this week is the week to buy then before the cut in production starts to raise prices?

Brent oil prices rose two weeks ago from $24 to $32 average.

This will see a price increase probably next week back towards 50c/litre.

Sort of proves that oil price changes take 2-3 weeks to feed in both higher and lower

Brent Crude is now $28.00 -5.41%. You are the only one on here who keeps predicting a price rise, and you have yet to be proved right. what's your interest here?

No interest whatsoever, but follow it as a hobby and used to assist with pumps.ie

If you read back, I suggested people wait to buy as prices were dropping.

Didn't check the market today, seems it's tanking again and this means that the current low price should continue.

But there may be a small increase next week followed by a drop back if today's market drop is sustained

Capital oil who service Dublin and Kildare have broken below €400 for 1000L (€397) and are €200 for 500L

Martin Lewis on his show last night mentioned the Mexico , Russia, Saudi cartel cutting production advised anybody who was changing electricity supplier to do so now, as oil was likely to increase in price soon.

His show is aimed at Uk market.

Current price is based on the oil prices of over two weeks ago which were 15% lower than Friday's price.

It's important to know that Brent north sea crude price is the reference price for Europe.

US oil (wti/west Texas) is a light oil and needs a lot more refining to turn to fuel. Hence its always cheaper.

I would hold off for a couple of weeks lads.
Price of oil collapsed overnight due to the worldwide storage issues.

Carbon tax increase applies from friday week 1st may will add about 2c per litre i.e add €20 to 1000 litres

Probably wont be noticed as much with prices falling either way,

The problem is that only American light crude dropped. Brent crude is still $27 and is still above the $23 from 3 weeks ago.

Brent pricing is what is used in Europe and Middle East.

But with warmer days, there's no rush and I can't see prices rising, so except for the extra carbon tax, there's nothing to push people to order

Brent Oil is down 3.35% overnight and is still dropping.

Still above the $23 it dropped to 3 weeks ago and current price reflects that price.

Only 17c of the current price reflects the oil price. So if oil dropped to $15 for Brent, another 6-7c would come off the price. Or €60-€70 on 1000 litres.

Remember, it has to be refined, brought to port, carbon tax added, and distribution costs added and 13.5% vat. These costs are all relatively constant (except vat) no matter what the price of oil is.

Or put it another way, if oil was free, 1000l would still cost about €250

Brent crude oil is the one that affects our prices.
