Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hello all,

I plan on building a lean to shed onto the side of the house. Timber frame with ship lap. It will be used for motorcycle storage and ill also put a chest freezer, washing mashing into it so it will have to be insulated and sealed well. I havent decided on the base just yet. One issue I see so far is the two drainage pipes coming from the side of my house ( 3 bed semi ). How would I go about building the roof around these so that they are water tight?

If its too much effort ill just build beside the neighbors partition wall but I would rather build off the side of the house.

Not if I want to build onto the side of the house. The pipes are nearly half way along the house wall. Its drainage from the upstairs toilets. This shed will be possibly 22ft long.

its outdoor building, even if it did develop a leak, you arent talking the same effect it would have inside. water tends to find a way when it can...

I suppose im better off leaving the pathway along the house. Its an odd shape that I need. The side entrance at the front of the house is the narrow side. The side widens as you move to the rear of the house.

sometimes it can be so much handier just buying something "off shelf" depends on your space and requirements and how handy you are I suppose!

Contrary to popular belief, it's a bad idea to put a freezer in an unheated area.

For me - If this is taking your whole entire side entrance or part of it. Whats the point. The White goods in it will prevent access properly from front to back.

Id just get a shed or build a shed either or and put everything in that.

Wow ... I never knew that ... I'm still a bit unsure as to why ... I've often had a freezer or fridge in the shed ( one there now ) , but I've never measured the power usage ..

I'm thinking one long shed partitioned in the middle. Thinking of going with brick now. It's an ever changing plan.
