Was out looking at a job in a church, walls are approximately 1m thick, cut granite, need to get a few 3 by 2.5 swas through them. Anyone had any experience with this type of work? Just wondering how tough these walls are likely to be and if an sds plus will do the job, any thoughts, comments appreciated. Cheers

Long time ago when I was in college had to get through 400 mm granite on a basement in Clyde Road.

It was tough going but got through it .

I did a rewire in a church years ago. We had to get a drilling company in for a wall similar to what you describe. Think we wrecked a few 32mm sds bits before we got the experts in.

You just use a standard sds and masonry bit?

Yeah, their first electrician backed out because of the granite, I've never really worked with the stuff except for a few 6mm holes in some tiles. Who did you use and how much did it cost?

Diamond Core Drilling would do the job but it is a specialised job with diamond tipped bits and water cooling.
