Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

That Cillian da Gascun has said a couple of times that this isn't going to be over in 2 weeks....and that the severity of lockdown is going to get worse.

Let's all hope the next 3 weeks means a small number of cases daily.

UK are talking about 10-15 weeks to the peak of this thing...long haul

The Chinese response to Covid and the speed at which they have shared aid and expertise with some regions is going to buy them an awful lot of diplomatic good will and soft power.

Contrast Chinese aid to Italy, with Trump's blaming of the EU for seeding the virus stateside.

    Haha. The chinese.

Human rights violations in terms of starvation etc have helped them manipulate the figures.

It's like they've carried over this interview technique to interrupt pre election waffle. Except when someone is in the middle of explaining something as important as this, it is infuriating.

Fans are at the gates right now with the first practice due to start in 2-3 hours

Definitely bigger than brexit/Trump. Comparable to 9/11. IMO.

Could part of that be down to testing? If The amount of testIng increases over time then it would somewhat explain theses sort of patterns.

From what I've read not all suspected cases are being tested so all the numbers are bullsh@t IMO.

I agree. I wonder if they might be able to use this as a way to position themselves as the worlds new superpower. Particularly with USA basically having an isolationist strategy, spoiling all relations around the world and probably about to make a massive balls of managing this themselves.

If China have mass produced these sort of supplies and start medically bailing out countries, I really do think people will ignore it’s a dictatorship and the human rights abuses that go on there.

Is anyone finding their WiFi a bit slow? Virgin media, Dublin.

Only thing I'm finding slow tonight (eir broadband/fibre) is Boards for understandable reasons.

Coveney seems irritated that Britain allowed Cheltenham to go ahead.

He's had enough of them. He had to deal with them during that clusterfcuk who's outcome is still still to play out. I'm sure that by now, any reference to what The Brits are doing gives him PTSD. When you think about what he had to deal with during Brexit and how he handled it, you can understand why he might be raging on the inside while showing a resigned, bitter calm on the outside.

most pathetic cretin of a human for posting such a comment about an elderly lady out shopping...especially on such a momentous day as today in our society.

did that make you feel better about yourself?

are you the kind of person who watches action movies or plays games all day in your underwear, getting your adrenalin up, thinking you're the big hero and yet would probably baulk if someone said boo to you in real life?

    disgusted.

    Deep breaths

So I'm hearing that Boots+Lloyds messed up ordering from pharmaceutical wholesalers by ordering over the counter medications resulting in prescription medications not been abled to be delivered. Scandalous.

Lloyd’s are owned by United Drug - Ireland’s biggest wholesaler as far as I know. UD also do a lot of pre-wholesale so I doubt it’s true

This is easily bigger then all three together. Some of us don’t even contemplate what might happen in poorer countries who may have double digit mortality numbers.

I’m 41 and have never known a global issue like this. This is already the biggest thing in my lifetime.

Was thinking this myself today when driving around Dublin.

Can also remember wondering if we’d ever get back to normal, and we did.

I hope people check in on their elderly neighbours and relatives, don’t just post about it on social media using the current hashtag, but actually check in on them.
