Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The British have a history of catastrophic planning that cost huge numbers of lives.

Gallipoli. The Crimea. Dunkirk. To name a few.

I guess we can add Covid19 to that list.

Hah, you're a Utd fan aren't u? I'd say it will be resumed at some point. Expect massive battles in the courts if it wasn't, especially those involved in relegation battles etc.

And this is why everyone is Laughing at Liverpool fans.

    :)

They may not be able to do that, this is going to drag on for months. Easiest thing for everybody is to write off the season. If they try to finish it, then that pushes the next season out aswell.... Most teams will not sympathise with Liverpool (as most clubs only care about themselves) so the majority will rule.

Doctor on the radio said vaccine tests are getting good results from an already available rheumatoid arthritis drug.

And Boris is a muppet, and will kill people. There's not enough time to get the herd immunity together, there will be a large spike in people needing assistance, and now that the NHS is this close to breaking, he's effectively sentencing a certain portion of the UK population to death, without good reason.

Of course, the plan is likely Cummings' and aimed at keeping the economy up, at the expense of people taking pension money from the state. All sounds good until everything falls apart..

I would assume that they will declare the season finished in place.

FA need to nominate clubs for europe and this makes most sense for that reason.

So, you went out today and did a big shop, the place was crowded, then you came home and put half the stuff into the freezer.

Fast forward 2 weeks - happy days - you survived the Covid19 outbreak. You take a packet of burgers out of the freezer and defrost that crafty Covid19 that has been frozen on top of the packet the whole time.

    Could that happen?

It's an interesting approach. I think we are ****ed either way tbh.

Probably seeing it as their only way to "get ahead" of the EU post brexit/Covid-19, cynical and heartless - so pretty much textbook of how you would expect the UK to act.

There is alot wrong with this line of thinking thats been discussed in these threads plenty of times. When the bodies start stacking up , you will get why this was a terrible strategy.

Also if we slow it here hopefully there will be breakthroughs in treatment. I don’t know how long the restrictions will last as the above poster has a point about coming out of lockdown and being infected again

    Friday 13th March.

    UK /NHS 590
    IRL /HSE 070

So who's taking the correct approach?

The UK (with good medical advice) has decided not to press the "shut the schools button" just yet, while Leo & Co have decided (with good medical advice) that the time is NOW!

Maybe they're both right? Maybe it doesn't matter.

*Breaking News, Everton's entire football team gone into lockdown due to the virus spreading.

I am not so sure all clubs will agree to that , relegation and qualifying spots may be disputed.

If they void season, they could just use this years qualifiers as qualifying again. There maybe an issue with voiding a season but allowing clubs to qualify based on position, particularly if some teams have a game in hand etc. Its actually the easiest, that everybody agrees to reset to the start of the season.

    Sorry for stating the obvious.

You do know people get mild before they get serious.

Ok, but is it not a good thing to see the figure climb though?

Is that really a vaccine though? Sounds more like treatment of severe symptoms or prevention of severe symptoms appearing. Vaccines encourage an immune response.
Still sounds positive though. Doctors in Italy really are throwing the kitchen sink at this.

Micheal Martin on RedFM atm, talking about how they are using Wuhan as an example and was part of the decision to close schools yesterday. Also saying they are hoping for a natural decrease in public transport hence why it’s continuing as normal. Wants students to do social distancing as much as possible and says he doesn’t see the need for pubs to close yet among other things

    Nope, sorry.

Bought one on Tuesday, and bought enough to self-isolate for two weeks if needed.

Coming from a high risk family, we opted to buy sensibly. We didn't buy 2000 bog rolls, but we bought enough mince for 4 dinners, enough chicken for 4 dinners, few bags of frozen veg, etc.

We didn't have the capacity to do so unless we bought one.

I absolutely do agree some people are over-stocking stupid stuff.

But I won't apologize for taking proper precautions to self-isolate for two weeks as needed.

Buying enough for 4 meals isnt really panic buying, a weekly shop or even a Christmas shop would be no different.

Unrelated to the virus, the MI5 in the UK assume that society is only ever 4 meals away from anarchy. So best to have an extra meal just in case. :p

    The Covid-19 miracle cure!

Seems a huge number of people in hospital have had a miraculous recovery and able to be discharged. Suddenly their families have found time to look after them at home or their conditions miraculously disappeared.

Bring it on! - this virus has caused more recovery from other ailments that medical science has ever been able to do.

A&E's are practically empty. Seems a little cut on the leg can now be sorted with a plaster rather than a trip to a&e. A slight chest infection can now be cured with some resting up at home instead of a visit to a&e.

Yes, its been said in a humorous way, but the number of bed blockers that were in the system was at a ridiculous level and this has seen a huge number of people that have no business being in a hospital staging phenomenal recoveries

It was the elderly who saw Brexit over the line in the UK.

And this is how they are repaid by BoJo.

If you are going to be on lockdown for months, I dont think an extra week or two is going to break the back on that lockdown.

Saw that the German league is weighing up...

    No league winner.
    Top 4 get CL spots
    No teams relegated.
    Some teams promoted
Next year, run an extra large league and relegate an extra few teams to compensate.
