Was listening to Sean O Rourke there and they had a text in from someone saying when an outbreak occurred in Vietnam, they introduced a system where the shops opened for two hours in the mornings on weekends so the elderly could get in before the crowds. Might not be a bad idea to introduce something similar here, maybe on a Friday. Can’t imagine how intimidating it must be to have to face the throngs and queues when you’re that age and probably frail.

Don’t know.
You get home as quick and as straight as possible.
No heading into town to wander around. Bite to eat in a few different restaurants.

I think this absolute ignorance of China is a large part of why we were so unprepared in Europe. China has been the primary high end global manufacturing center for well over a decade.

Some of our elders are scared or dont know whats going on. Try and be a little bit sympathetic to the ones who actually dont realise (for whatever reason) how serious this is.

I brought my mum supplies 2 weeks ago, gave her money to stock up on fuel until the summer and have been preparing her emotionally for this. Alot of people havent had a warning and the panic buying today and yesterday is a manifestation of this. I would hope come monday or tuesday this will calm down and people will realise the world is not ending, its just changing and we just need to adapt.

But seriously, people need to try and show a little compassion, especially to our older or vulnerable. This is the biggest event in practically everybodys life and has the potential to change us all over the coming months.

Local Aldi store delayed opening by 1 hour to give the staff a break, store manger walking down the queue explaining that there is plenty of stock no need to bulk buy and just chill out, it seemed to work, no mad dash, everyone seemed to be buying everyday essentials. It was busy but nothing crazy.

(Store originally due to open at 9 hence the queue)

However I have stated for a number of years that I don't mind the middle one winning the EPL so long as it's not in my lifetime. I was getting seriously concerned for my own health before this all blew up. However today's announcement they will postpone the finish of this season's EPL until the first gap in the Global soccer candle, being sometime in the year 2075, makes me feel a whole lot better.....
