Another Laptop Advice Question

Hi guys,

Just wondering would this be good bang for buck for a laptop for home use and a bit of "work" from home use.

Was looking at 10th Gen i5 at the minimum.

Or are either of these (this or this) just as good? Thanks

if you're willing to spend a bit more you can get a much more solid and premium all-metal matebook d 14 to get away from the plastic fantastic
also has a bigger ssd @ 500gb
comes with a decent smartwatch free with it with the deal going right now. you could probably sell that for €100 new handily enough so at the end would not be much in it compared to what you are looking at.

ryzen 5 4-core will run smoothly and will have better integrated graphics than the intel range you are looking at.

the case / chassis e.g. everything but the keys on the keyboard and the screen is made of metal.

yes it's sturdier / more solid and also feels more solid (e.g. non-plastic cheap feeling)

I'll hi-jack this thread, rather than create another; looks like OP got sorted.
I'm looking for similar enough specs.
Work from home laptop; no video editing or anything heavy, mostly MS Office and a bunch of web-based tools.
Would you choose/advise Ryzen 5 or intel i5?

Not really sure I can see any other difference in the specs, and price is essentially the same.
Covid work from home has forced me to upgrade (current laptop just isn't workable);

I had set my budget as <500, but at a stretch will go to €550.

Which of the above would you go for, or any other options I'm missing?
Ideally B&M, but was willing to cope with Dell delivery, and if it's somewhere that takes All4One vouchers better again.

asus vivobook 15 with the 3500u cpu in argos is better regardless.

I bought myself a Thinkpad a while back for work for around that money (i5) and it has been absolutely flawless.
