Staining a wooden fence

Hello,

I need to touch up a stained fence. I believe creosote is no longer used or is banned. Any recommendations? Do the ones who claim 10 years cover work or is this normally an annual thing?

Co op sells pretty decent stuff (Ronseal + dark oak ) really black in colour,you'll get 4/5 years if not too exposed,and no the 10byear stuff doesent last ( painter here)

These "Fencelife"-type stains work very well nowadays as most fences are made of vacuum-treated timber. The use of creosote dates back to a time when this had yet to be invented.
There are not many creosote users around any more:)

Yes,but the + one is the exact stuff I used to do a 150m fence,2 coats ,and went back over the facing fence for a 3rd, makes a difference
